I've had injector problems, which has caused my motor to hydraulic, my tuner pumped 2 litres of fuel out of cylinder number 2,.... Now the problem I have is that he reacons I have shortened my engines life, and reacons I can't push the same power I had before hand....have I stuffed my motor that bad that I can't get any more power out of it....???

Thanks guys....

Well, that kind of depends on what you mean by "hydraulic". Was it running when it locked or were you cranking it? Did the mechanic say that he thought you would have caused ring/bore wear from washing it with petrol or was he suggesting that the rod or bearing on that cylinder might have copped a beating?

Any and all of those things, and more, could be thought up as possible damage, but the believability of any of them will depend on how it happened.

Only on startu up it hydraulic, to much fuel inn cylinder number 2 which caused it... Lol...the bore was a lil glazed but not so much damage...but he reacons I can't boost it to hard...other wise I'm gonna blow my motor....

2 Litres out of one cylinder? one cylinder capable of holding less then 500ml?

Or am I missing something

But yeah bent rod is likely if its filled your cylinder up with fuel

Haha yeah I saw that too but I thought he really ment 200ml

The only way to know what damage there is, is to pull down the engine. How could he possibly know what damaged has happened? and for him to say he pulled 2LT of fuel out just means he talks alot of shit.

OMFG

Pouring fuel into your cylinder will not glaze your bores.

Running a FRESH engine at 9:1 over a 1000-5000km period will. Fuel doesn't just automatically and magically reduce the depth of your hone marks after 30 seconds

Advising that tuners are talking shit or don't know what they are talking about and that people should get their cars outta there pronto based on a forum posters description of a problem based on their limited mechanical knowledge is not a good idea. It is also not sound advise.

To the OP: How did your tuner put too much fuel in that cylinder?

I cannot see the car but it is extremely hard to tell an injector to pump that much fuel into a cylinder. Depending on the size of the injector of course.

If I was a betting man I would say your problem is the actual injector or the ECU controlling it. If there is an open circuit there, it will cause the injector to stay open all the time.

If it locked on cranking then yes the rod can bend. You can test for this without removing the pistons and rods by doing a piston height test using a dial gauge. It will tell you if the piston is sitting lower in the bore. A comp test will also reveal any major bends but won't tell you if it's 0.005" bent

Do a comp test and an oil analysis to determine bearing failure and if it all comes back good it should be ok and healthy

DId I need to underline and capitlise the IF in my previous post?

Actually yes that would be great. Are you able to edit it?. The OP may not understand that you are describing the likely effect rather than reading it and assuming you are saying his bores are glazed from fuel

Wouldn't 2l be impossible to get out of a 2.5l engine? Most of the pistons would have to be at the very bottom of their stroke and at least one or 2 would be near TDC, unless the fuel got past the rings?

Well my injector size are 850cc power enterprise, and my tuner reacons there to big for my setup, and he reacons that my power fc can't handle em, and on start up and idle it squirts more fuel inn then once it gets going it's normal, and he reacons they have been modified , drilled out bigger which is bullshit cause there brand new...

Does anyone think that I have caused damage for it to run like shit???

Also last night cruising, every gear foot flat full load my engine warning light was flashing , and boost was playing up, like there is a restriction ....

whos the tuner? clearly a bit clueless

I think you need to push him for some specifics. Forget how much fuel came out it is irrelevent, there was enough to stop the engine turning over. The only way this can happen one one cylinder is if there is a fault in the injector or a computer malfunction causing the injector to open while the engine is not turning over. i dont care how big a injector is i cant see it spraying enough fuel to fill a cylinder to the point of locking while a engine is being cranked!

First change your oil! i have seen a few cylinders lock with fuel over the years and it has always contaminated the oil.

Second start from the beginning and check your engine for damage, ie comp test (on all cylinders) and a leak down test to compare all the cylinders together. If these come back at a acceptable level then i would work on the theory of no damage done and get on with life. Tune up, modify do what ever you want!

Obviously you will never be 100% sure but if there is no proof of damage then be positive.

this is wat happened, when i got my big turbo and injectors all put in and tuned, my tuner didnt put the pintal caps on the end of the injecors, which then causeed the o rings to push out into the fuel rail, which then i had back fire issues and dropping a cylinder, number 6....i took it back then he said its running fine and said i had fuel pressure problems, i then got a new FRP, put that in and then he said, number 6 injector has been modifiied and drilled out which causing it to run like shit (PE 850cc brand new)..then one weekend took out the rail to have a look at injecors and noticed all o rinngs were pushed out and no pintal caps....i then put stock ones on to get it back to the shop the next day, then drrove up and on way up number 2 injector was leaking, towed it to shop, tryed starting it then it hydrauliced it self.....then he spends 3 days on it, dryed out all cylinders, new oil, new filter, new plugs, new pintal caps, re tuned it for a safe tune, im now running 0.90 bar boost, before i was running 1.40 bar....and everytime i boost it its back fires, platters, shudders the car and flamage.....my tuner reacons "myself" f*ked the llife span on my motor and he doesnt want to boost it due to bores being a lil glazeed.........

thats my probllem, sorry for the loong story but had to give it out, so u understannd....

thanks guys...

    • Foreign debris, physical shock, boost leak, could be anything honestly. The danger in taking all the timing out of a tune/hitting the R&R corner is that even if the engine doesn't detonate your turbo is taking a lot of abuse from high EGT. Also, even if nothing goes wrong it is a journal bearing that is spinning at 100k RPM on boost. Eventually it goes through enough cold start/pressure cycles to wear it out.
    • I kinda accidentally saw this, and was interested, but It actually seems to replaces the whole center computer, using the existing screen and buttons. AND it may only be for a G37 and not compatible with a Japanese 370. So its not for me, but someone else may be interested to look into it. Its about $680USD. If I am understanding it right, it basically replaces/installs and android pc that integrates with the existing screen. But I could be wrong. https://gromaudio.com/vline/ The video I first saw was the following, with very little and unclear details.     Even if your not interested in the system, the video on their site was pretty comforting in showing how simple the whole centre comes out
    • hfygrte52 what side you looking for? Do you care what color car it's off? Found a white LH side on here: https://skylinespares.com.au/product/nissan-skyline-r33-coupe-rear-tail-light/   Aussie parts place but will ship to USA. Maybe get it before there's a tarrif on 25yo shit box parts
    • I’m with Shannon’s for all 5 of our cars. Agreed values seem fair, premium price is okay. ($210 ish a month, all comprehensive).  Have claimed once with them for a not at fault claim with another car where my car had no damage. Was one call after the incident and an email after. Deemed not at fault so premium didn’t go up either.    I have called up and spoken with people who are not familiar with certain cars and didn’t agree with me on value or let their personal vehicle preferences effect the call. But called back later and got someone else who was more agreeable.
    • It is an absolute lottery. They can and have died at stock boost with low usage at all. The turbos are now anywhere up to 36 years old!
