1) I been hearing a lot about the Gt35r turbos but unsure if theyll do or bit expensive and might as well go with cheaper?

Thats a turbocharger made for a ford xr6. will be laggy ass for a RB25 engine. Get hypergear's PU high flow done to yours, its a drop in turbo that save you lots of fuss, makes 280rwkws on 98 and roughly 330rwkws on E85.

2) 440cc or too low?

Yes that is too low. Get ID 1000 injectors with fuel rail or some 850cc sard or Power enterprise injectors.

3) a lot use Walbro is there a specific pump needed or mainly all walbros are high flow rate?

Walbro is fine, I perfer bosch 040, you get them at your ford service centers.

4) what difference between ECU + tune or just a nistune (daughter board) + tune??

Nistune don't work on Rb25det unless its a Neo motor. You can try PFC, Link G4 or get adaptronic plugin.

5) how will 6 or 9 puck clutches differ?

Get Xtreme single plate. They are good for around the 300rwkws mark.

6) would i need a GTR gearbox or would stock do?

Stock will do fine.

7) what would engineers certificates cost roughly? and engineers cert is done after all the upgrades? or before?

Normally you would speak to your engineers before any modifications taking places. There are certain requirement must be meet. They will tell you all about it.

8) would i need aftermarket pistons/conrods? (ie forged)

Stock is fine for 300rwkws if it has a good tune.

8) have i missed anything? ie would i need an aftermarket suspension system to handle power/thrust? if so, i like a smooth ride (not rough) any recommendations?

Not really, but do get good tyres.

and finally, how much will all this cost? roughly between what two figures?

I spent about $4G and installed most of the stuff my self.

what do you mean by a drop in turbo? as in uninstall it, ship it to hypergear, get it back, install and tune as opposed to getting flanges/manifolds etc done?

SICK thats cheap did you do a lot of looking around or is that how much it usually costs? btw, wat would labour be you reckon?

when people give you replies to the questions your asking, its only an opinion and may not be the solution for 'you'

This is why its best to research for yourself to see what would work for you and your taste, and why I dont like these types of threads, you will end up with all sorts of advice and you'll either have more questions to confirm which is the 'best' advice or you'll go with the setup that sounds good, may not work for you but oh well...

if you want to go E85 for 'more power' think ahead, but it will all get much more expensive, different ECU, different fuel setup, and if going flex fuel a more indepth tune plus ethanol sensors etc... the flex fuel is min $2.5K by itself..

lots of people using nistune on rb25det not just neo as far as Im aware, but nistune wont support enthanol sensor feedback for flex setup.

use bosch fuel pumps, garrett or hks turbos, thats just another opinion, mine.

do you want cheap or do you want good... most of the time people do the cheap method and then it will cost you more in the end stuffing around with bits and pieces, and it all adds up...

it'll cost way more than $4K

ecu $1-1.7K, turbo $900-1.7K, clutch $800, injectors $800 fuel pump $200,

this is really MINIMUM pricing and will already cost $4K and that using the cheap ass parts, then plus all the other bits, shipping, fluids, tuning, then factor in problems along the way and then plus labour if your not doing it yourself, $1500 plusssss++++ for labour

so my comments about you researching and learning yourself through reading the forum properly is actually the best advice in this whole thread.

id try 280-300kw on pump fuel before you get ahead of yourself... i just got 260kw with a gt3076 and its pulling so hard that i know its even enough for the street now, but still going back for 280-300kw just for bragging purposes lol

ah nice bro :)

id be happy with 260 myself to be honest.. dont want something overkill and 260 is more than enough but you dont find the gt30r bit big for what youd need? or is it responsive and all? if so, whats your specs?

Brilliant attitude!!!

Your running ext gate with .82 with type b poncams aren't you?

When is full boost hitting?

Std healthy 25DET , Neo a little nicer , with something like a GTRS and a decent computer/AFM/injectors /fuel pump .

This is where my R33 is , still with R34 SMIC , and can't hold traction in the mid range in 1st or second .

Runs the Whiteline Bilstein SK suspension kit and 234/45s on 8 1/2" wheels btw .

Your call but I wouldn't throw a lot of money chasing big power in a light to medium weight RWD car .

IMO GT35 anything silly big for any 2.5L road engine .

Given a choice I'd do a budget build with a freshened up RB30E with a Neo head on top . Cubic inches in a mild easy on the engine state of tune would very easily make stupid boardering on unusable torque in a RWD R32 - and you don't need huge turbos or lots of boost to get it .

Toss a plain Jane GT3076R 0.82 IW on to the above combination with a bar of boost and try keeping tyres on it .

A .

hmm well to be completely honest here, this gtx3076 seems to be a top end kind of turbo, im running 15psi and floor it down low and it reacts a bit but takes till 4000rpm then its hello and pulls away, so maybe more like a gt35 im guessing, but this week ill be upping boost to 18-20psi and we'll see if it can come on earlier...but to be honest .. im am over the moon with this, even off boost this pulls like when i had a gt2871 highflow so boost is really not so relevant even here. But i think a normal gt3076 with 0.63 and methanol injection or E85 may have been the ultimate setup now that i think about it, and discopotato seems to be quite accurate with his recommendations.

oh and full boost seems to be around 4000rpm, 5psi immediately around 3000rpm and under then around 3500rpm it quickly hits 10psi and then fast to 15psi.

Yeah it is a bit big for 260kw's , it lags down low and you need 4000rpm before it pulls , but like i said its not slow under that, it keeps up with traffic and im happy with it, but to maximise the whole power band, either a smaller trim or o.63 might have been a better compromise upto 260-270kw, but i choose my turbo with 300kw in mind and for possible E85 later on with a forged engine so it suits that purpose.

Today it was just starting to get loose in 2nd on a flat road no bumps, i think the 0.82 housing makes it smoother and less loose at the rear so im not sure but 0.63 may have been more fun in that way...

I agree with most of the suggestions, get a 3076R or Hypergear, I myself almost just bought a set of siemens deka 60lb injectors from ebay which are real cheap but all this talk on ID1000s sorta stopped me, then again I dont wana spend that big on injectors unless i have to so going to read more. The rest of my setup is complete except for the turbo, have the z32 AFM lying around and injectors will be soon for my R34. Then selecting the main bit, the turrbo..woot woot
