Fuel Level Float Issues / And Fuel Tank Seal Replacement

Need some help guys,

Im putting my old mans car back together, he was rebuilding the engine with my older brother, he passed away 3 months ago and he never got to finish putting the car back together, i've taken it over, have the engine back together and in, I found the fuel pump was u/s, so we pulled that out, in the process we saw the float floating on the top of the fuel, so if anyone has any idea where this is supposed to be secured? second thing is, does anyone know were to purchase the fuel tank seal on the top of the tank?

There will be an "arm" that the float is supposed to be attachted to. . . when i had this problem i just swapped in another fuel pump/cradle assembly as i couldnt confidently resecure to float and rely on it to stay put
