Karolis
Hi guys, I'm new to this forum actively looking to buy a R35 as a step-up from my current Nissan. I came accross this one in the market, inspected, looks ok. Does anyone have any info on this car? Obviously it has spent sometime here in Syd. it might have been seen on a track, events etc. http://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/details/nissan-gt-r-2010-12577832?base=1216&vertical=Car&cr=0&eapi=2&__N=1246%201247%201252%201282%204294963846%204294961487%20898%201216&silo=Stock&Range=Price:Min,Max~0.5&sort=default Owner claims his wife was driving to the shops all the time, hence low Ks what sounded so "used car salesman".. Tyres almost gone at 12.5K..not a good sign really. Anything will help to decide. Cheers, K. Speedah
dont know the car but 12.5k klms on a set of tyres is not out of the ordinary.....at 14k klms my tyres had string hanging out of them Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/401390-any-info-on-this-r35/#findComment-6377726 Share on other sites
LSX-438
Agree with that, after 12k my first set of tyres were shagged. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/401390-any-info-on-this-r35/#findComment-6377735 Share on other sites
GT-R OZ
As this is a JDM import ask full details about the warranty! Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/401390-any-info-on-this-r35/#findComment-6377775 Share on other sites
Wardski
Its a JDM 2010, so its a 2008 with a complianced plate done in 2010... Since Dec 2008, no JDM R35's can be complianced in Aus unless they are 2008 vintage. Most of these cars arrived on our shores for less than $90k, and then marked up at a profit in competition with the ADM cars. And warranty? 3 years aftermarket covering what exactly?? Most Nissan service centres won't touch em with a 40' pole either.. I'm not sure if the JDM multi-function display has english. TBE and Cobb tune.... I wonder if the bellhousing has been replaced, and the miriad of transmission issues that came with the 2007/2008 models..... You take your chances IMO, but the price is way too high. Offer $85k take it or leave it. domino_z
no way of changing the japanese characters on the mfd or dash don't care how cheap it is, that would give me the shits Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/401390-any-info-on-this-r35/#findComment-6377801 Share on other sites
ecl
For that price, I would (actually I did) pick up a 09 and possibly a 10 if you can throw a bit more $ in. Nothing wrong with an import but I don't think it's worth the hassles if it's priced that close to an ADM. It also has mods on it already so I would be vary of the condition of the tranny. If you are dead set on it, take it to a reputable workshop and get a very thorough check. Nissan won't touch it unfortunately from what I've heard as it's an import. ossie cossie
When i was looking at buying one i was told to get an ADM car, I got mine from Sydney just like that one red mine had just over 9000km on it. It cost me $108,000 now it has about 15,000 km,s andd the front tyres are worn out on the inside as well, i dont know if its true but im sure i heared somewhere that the front suspension has 2 settings road and Track, and they are set to track from factory. Before i get the new tyres i will try and get more info on this. Karolis
Boys, Appreciate the feedback. Not touching it, obviously not a best choice. Cheers again K. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/401390-any-info-on-this-r35/#findComment-6378897 Share on other sites
GT-R OZ
Yea I agree, you wouldn't pay any more then 85k for this car, the warranty is probably worthless. I'd say 80k then take the car straight to Willall for a full service and transmission upgrade. ossie cossie
can i get the camber settings changed to road setup at any laser alighnment centre? or does nissan have to do it? if so what are the settings that make the tyres wear out more evenly, This 15000km on a set of front tyres is just not on. Speaking from personal experience with this particular warranty - absolutely nothing. Appreciate the feedback. Not touching it, obviously not a best choice. Good luck mate, i'm sure you'll find a good one. You have fantastic taste in cars. I'm planning on one of these shortly too, though i'll be going through private sales searching for an ADM one, my preference shall be pearl white. Cheers. Try to get a 2010 or later mate. I almost bought a 2009, but the better MFD screen resolution in the 2010 is well worth it!
