hey guys my sister has a 2007 suzuki swift. great little car

i was wondering if any of you guys have girlfriends/sisters with this car (their pretty popular)

its a 1.5/ 1.6 auto

when we first baught it had a little grunt to it drove nice

since then its just slowly gotten sluggish and just real slow, not the best on fuel

ive done oil spark plugs new panel filter and still slugglish

ive noticed the transmission takes 3-4 seconds to downgear under acceleration

the intake was very restrictive so i opened it up, helped a little top end and a little tone but still its terrible

so im thinking maybe the cats blocked?

anyone know much about it because i looked on suzuki forums there all dumb cun*s

cheers

change fuel filter?

dont use e10(if you are)

diconnect battery for around an hour, on a small number of cars, it can do whats similar to a soft reset, and bring the transmission back to factory settings.

worth a try.

il try the fuel filter as i can do it. il do the battery thing and go from there. i would of bashed the cat (shhhh) but theres a secondary oxy sensor and will make the engine light come on

cheers

is it a swift sport? If so make sure your using 98 makes a big difference. It actually recommends using 98 and the increased economy is enough to offset the additional cost while making the car more fun. On the standard model no idea what fuel is required maybe 95 but likely just standard

- Check the tire pressures - could be a little low.

- Check to make sure it is still running light weight engine oil.

- Extra weight in the car. Did she get a big sound system installed lately?
