Help Lights Dont work!!!

Hi all, i have an R32 GTSt and my lights and engine arent getting on too well these days.

About a week ago i broke my speedo cable near the back of the instruments, and when i turned the lights on with the engine running it would switch straight to the turbo timer and shut down when the handbrake was released. At first i thought that it may have been a safety feature similar to the "Limp Home mode". I have now fixed the speedo cable and this problem still exists. i tried resetting the ECU but to no avail.

Has anyone encountered this problem before and if so how was it fixed? Or any other suggestions would be great

Sounds like you "broke" something else aswell

yeah looks that way, atm im thinking that i shorted out a couple of the tracks on the back of the instrument cluster, but for the life of me cant figure out why it would make the engine stop
