There's also a ripper Asian foodcourt in Haymarket - Dixon House Food Court. Cheap and dirty food, but tastes sensational. There is one place in particular (I think it's a 'sizzling plate restaurant' or something like that) that gives mountainous portions - but be warned: they make their food HOT with a capital F!

Can't really go wrong with top level haymarket. If you get cheap and nasty, at least there is a crap load of food, and I mean heaps of it, although all the nice tasty litres of oil doesn't go down with me as well now as it did back in Uni days.. If you get the hotplate place, it's pricier and you get less food (still a good amount) but you get more and better meat with less oil.

Best part about haymarket though is the Lychee blended ice fro the drinks place in the middle. Only had about 10 of them in 8 years and i'm sure I get diabetes every time I have it. But it's so good!!!

Also weight update, from the time my post #262 I am down from 94.2kg to 86.8kg. Counting down the weeks until I can at least eat at some restaurants again.

The apple bar at Bilpin is good always had good a top notch feed there

1 of The chefs from there is on ready steady cook from time to time and bells line of road up through bellbird hill has some sweet twisties makes for a nice cruise with some good scenery and fun roads

Cruise maybe???? :ninja:

May want to reconsider this place

Chargrill Charlie's consistently have awesome burgers, but strangely enough the one at Wahroonga is not quite as good as at St Ives, I've found. Plenty of other stuff on their menu too, but I haven't bothered to try anything else because the burgers hit the spot!

Did Masuya on monday night, wasn't too expensive.

was pretty alright too, though i think i can make their soy milk hotpot better.

Their boat display of sashimi never disappoints.

Fresh taste of fish - also based on how they cut it is superb.

went to Sake not long ago.. on the expensive side but didn't mind..

fusion Japanese usually isn't my forte, but this time round I actually didn't mind it.. didn't get the degustation menu as it looked a little too "fusion" for me

didn't mind the salmon tacos, tuna carpaccio (special on the day)... pretty good experience

Had lunch at Chur Burgers again today, yum.

burgers are great, also the scenery at lunch time is great too, usually leave hungry but with a boner LOL..

too bad I work in Milson's Point now, it's sad :(

RibTerranean in Balmain huh?

227 Darling St

P: 80650987

I must try it - luv ribs - especially pork ribs (hmmm maybe lamb)...

And I'll say hello to James the owner - if his R34 is out the front!

Some of their staff Chris, are from the home of Hyundai ;)

That's a pretty regular occurrence at a lot of "Japanese" restaurants now, and has been for quite a long time.

where i work at has heaps of korean girls coming and going

although, it also pains me to say that their work ethic, and physical attributes are a lot better than the real jdm girls.

RibTerranean in Balmain - owned by an SAU fanatic, restaurant is 10months old, we are now rated number 1 in Balmain!

If your after a superb rack of soft juicy ribs, lamb platters, tender haloumi cheese, zesty squid, the best Lebanese food you've ever tasted, 12 different Mediterranean salads, should I keep going?

Google us - Ribterranean.

Mention SAU and we will discount your bill.

Assasin

Well you must be doing something right James when two other restaurants in Balmain are copying your menu - but can't keep up the standards you set!

Terrific meal last night with 50/50 Bourbon/Smokey Pork Ribs.

And the dessert...

    • What could be causing my clutch problem besides a bad master or slave then? Both those parts are new
    • Just came across this, but in QLD I start leave again in 2 weeks, if it is still available I might drive up and check it out Unless, @MBS206 do you live near here????, if so I could hit you up with a finders fee https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/hope-island/auto-body-parts/nc-mx5-factory-hard-top/1328976391
    • My hold point for future mods is that I want a OEM detachable hard top first, but, finding one is a pain, MX5 Mania are looking for one for me, but, as hens teeth are more common, finding one in Australia is proving problematic  I can get a OEM one from overseas, hell, you can still get new ones in 'Merica, but, shipping is a absolute killer and I cannot justify the cost, or the risk of it being damaged during transport As for the aftermarket hardtops, whilst they do the job of being a hard top, and are fine for a track car, they don't seal well (read: leak like a sieve in the rain), and you need a plastic/poly rear window, plus they are a bolt in option only and not made to be easily removed I liked how the hard top on my NB could be fitted, and removed, by myself, in less than 5 minutes I know it sounds bad, but I'm waiting for someone to write off a car with one so I can swoop in on their pain, it will go to a good home though, so my guilt of this is tempered
    • I’ve got one on mine and it’s fine,
    • No, you don't want to plug the vacuum line, as that will turn that side of the booster into an air spring and probably make it feel worse. I'm not saying that the GTR master itself doesn't need a booster. I haven't paid attention to the GTR one to know what size it is cf the non-GTR ones. But when you think about it - they have to do the same job, which is to move a little slave piston a few mm to do what it is supposed to do, and that final action is the same on all the cars. So, it is very unlikely that the GTR MC is any different than the others, because it has the same pedal stroke and the same output requirement. The booster just makes it feel easier. I'd suggest you probably have an actual hydraulic problem. It's totally common on these old shitboxes.
