Chinese:- Chan's Garden Seafood Rest't

73 Burwood Rd Burwood

Six of us ordered 7 courses + rice/tea > $55/couple

A La Carte was better value than "Banquet" on offer.

8/10 rating

thought to revive this thread with a great charcoal chicken place i frequent;

Charcoal House Cafe

Shop 5, 1 Hill End Rd

DOONSIDE, NSW, 2767

corner of Hill End Rd and Doonside Crescent

http://www.truelocal...e-cafe/doonside

$21.00 gets you a whole chicken, pickles, garlic sauce, family chips and bread - and best of all theres no charge to eat in, great place to be if u a.] can tollerate doonside and b.] like peace and quiet when you eat

i always up-size the pickles and garlic sauce to the family size and grab an extra bag of bread, total cost is still only $26

great small family business serving great food at a reasonable price - highly reccomended for anyone living out in the west

Why would you want chips AND bread.... carb overload much? Chips and some salad would be better.

Wow I sound like such a girl

went there for a family dinner as well a while ago. fairly decent i'd say! quite good value too. did you drive your GTR and park it on the main road? TBH my car is always at the back of my mind if it's not in the driveway.

Took my wife's 530i Chris > Parked on Burwood Rd

If it's your GTT, I'd park it at the front or end of the line of cars if poss. But no, it would never enter my mind to use the GT-R and park it there.

If possible I wouldn't drive it anywhere past rhodes =D

another rec:

Mr.Han in Eastwood - it's basically at the end of Rowe st next to the fire station. If anyone's ever tried salty egg yolk-deep fried stuff (it's a very chinese style thing) then you should go here. their dishes are fairly good value and quite tasty (not the healthiest.......) but really, quite yummy.

Whitewater Grill in Manly does an epic marble score 8+ Wagyu rump steak for $40. I've also dined on their twice cooked pork belly, with seared scallops and shaved fennel, finished off with a grapefruit salad and apple chutney.

It is to die for.

Cheers,

Shaz

Hah I stayed in Burwood a year or 2 back when my mum was in one of the nearby hospitals. I was so paranoid bout the GTR I ended up leaving it at the workshop and using public transport!!

Glad I have a daily driver now for that type of thing!

it doesnt make much sense untill you've tried it i suppose, it offers decent exposure to a strong combination flavours - in it's defence it is lebanese bread so it is quite light - i've had similar arab/mediterranean meals (lamb/chicken shish plates) without chips also, works just as good

    • Yep that's a superb price and ther is no way you will over capitalise on you investment.  As to the bracket, again just use the passenger side seat  bracket ( obviously reversed ) as a sample to reshape it and in this case, TIG it back together.
    • Thanks for that.... If only I could do something once and be happy with that, like some people do....
    • I had no transmission at all so I managed to find a big box manual gearbox from an R34 GTT for an insanely good price in EU. I converted it to push type which cost more than the transmission almost, with parts from Amayama! These engines are very strong and can put out decent power with a properly sized turbo. You can save on money from parts like pistons and rods, and invest those in the transmission and other parts. I suggest you join the RB20 Enthusiasts facebook group, plenty of info and almost daily posts there about 20DE/DET/Neo+T builds. (I hope I'm not breaking any forum rules by mentioning third party platforms, just trying to help the buddy out)
    • Yeah, having tried all of those methods including BBQ+recipro/hacksaw, I ended up buying a bush press kit under $150 that works well, like this: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/355967727167?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=705-154756-20017-0&ssspo=sfmmuhxgqhm&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=dJvnaZ11TB-&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY It basically has a range of pushers and cups with threaded rods between to press out a range of large bushes. The problem with any sawing solution is minimising damage to the subframe side, although it probably needs a quick sand afterwards no matter what solution you try due to damage
    • Hi. Thanks for the answer. I do not have instagram 😄 I too considering turbo the RB20DE NEO 🙂 But i think i upgrade the gearbox first or at least buy new.
