Hey Guys

Has anyone here installed or knows where i can get install info for grounding kits for my V ????

I have google and youtubed and cant find anything >=[

And for the peeps that have had it installed to your V's, is it a myth or does it improve the auto gear changes???

Thanks for the help in advance =)

you can always try making your own if you can't find what you're after

The forum hosting the thread I linked is where I got the idea to try grounding wires on my car. I've never owned a v35 so cannot comment if it works on these cars but there was a definite lag in shifting on my auto v36 which the grounding wires helped with. Due to this it felt like the transmission delivered the power better through the improved shift response so it had a placebo effect of making the car "feel" faster.

I was skeptical before I tried it, but it definitely made a positive difference to driving my car.

a few things too;

- it won't add anymore kw or hp

- I didn't notice an improvement in my audio system quality

- only makes a difference for improving auto transmission shifts as the manual won't make a difference, because you change gears manually (duh :P )

Interesting story: A long time ago I ran a heap of cable around my engine & earthed everywhere recommended, & then some. Went for a drive & couldn't pick a difference in shift changes or performance with any aspect of the car.

My wife drove the car a few days later & when she returned she asked what I had done to it because she had noticed gear shifts to be slightly better. Now I did this when you was away & didn't tell her anything about it. It so happens that she always picks up on changes in cars (good or bad) before anyone else I know.

The moral; don't spend more than $10 on some cable & crimp connectors because that's about all it's worth. You probably won't feel a thing if you're like me (or many others on here) & will feel ripped off if you spend too much.

As Scotty said, the real difference is the Transgo shift kit. Worth the money & then some

yeah i think youd get the same effect from just removing the earth strap from the engine, the earth lead from the battery, cleaning all the surfaces, and putting it all back together

i personally find the V35 auto shift changes to be better than the auto in our 2008 porsche boxster...

For the money, even if it gave you 0.5kw power increase (due to less power loss through the gearbox for whatever reason) or smoother shifts/response, then it is worth it - hence why I put mine on :D

    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30掳 silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30掳 silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
    • It is the stock air box with the panel filter. Everything else is stock except the exhaust at this point, as I also went back to the cleaned 270cc injectors. I will check the RPM when the IACV is unplugged and report back.
