Hey all just looking for some advice.

So the basically I have the opportunity to get an r33 with minor front end damage

for a good price of a mate.

Since I have the tools and engine hoist and so on at home I could do it my self (and i little help from my friends :D )

but there is obvious things like wiring and drive shaft I'd need custom made and I want to know how much for the additional

things. As well as exactly what the extra things are.

OR

Because I cbf I was wondering what I would be looking at to get it installed by a workshop?

Any advice would be great :D

Thanks

not too much really, as you said wiring and tailshaft, may need to play with speedo sender, swap dash temp sender, exhaust should fit, same with intake piping

you may consider swapping brakes as well if you have the whole car

a shop would _probably_ charge you at least 2k

hrmm around 2k u reckon, if thats all sounds like a good deal to me. save me a lot of time F*@*ing around.

if i can get them both cars and 2k and in return i get a drive away stock rb25 32 id be happy as a larry.

ring some shops and ask them.

There has been so many of these conversions done that all problems would have been identified and solved so with a little resurch you should be able to have everthing covered before you start.

Why don't you just do what I'm doing Rob?

After muddy helps me with mine (WHICH ISN'T TO FAR AWAY NOW!!!!!) I can help you with yours.

Imagine the satisfaction that you will feel after it is done and you put in the hard work for yourself.

And as for the speedo sensor from memory you have to get a 32 gtr one as the standard rb25 sensor that goes into the gear box is electronic or something like that. I could be wrong though

I am doing this soon as well except im definitely doing it in a shop because i know i'll bugger it up hahaha. i got a quote from CRD in sydney (very respected workshop in sydney) and their quote was $3000 if there was no unforseen troubles. so yeah other places would definitely do it cheaper than that, CRD would definitely be one of the more expensive places but also one of the best.

hope that helps mate. also post your results so i know what im in for ;) haha

yeh i havnt got any solid quotes cause i know the second i hear the price ill run in the other direction, mostly because with the help of some friends i could do it at home, its just a matter of being bothered i suppose. you could wing taking the engine out of you're car and just intall the long motor and box, and get an auto sparky to do the wiring and a workshop to do the rest (surely cheaper than a full install) thats just my opinion though and i know nothing haha :P

there is a thread somewhere in the DIY section about the speedo sensor, something about using a narvara sensor and the r33 gts't cog from its sensor, there is also a DIY on the 25 conversion also i think

It depends, what box, what ECU any other mods you'll do while engine is out etc etc do some research

The guy who said a shop would charge 2k is dreaming. I used to know a bloke who would do this swap for around 2.5-3k hell ghetto though
