The rims would be OK on the track as i cant imagine Ant doing too much offroading or ripple strip jumps ;) But i agree with the Feds more due to the size of them!

ha cheers for the import guys..

i just looked again and pretty much decided to go with the nittos haha... im hopeless.

the nt05 isnt a full track tyre.. the nt05R is the proper semi slick, with the r type compound etc..

the tread wear differences of the two tyres are 200 nt05 and 240 for the federals..

so the nittos would just be a really grippy street tyre, and would still get 10k kms on them i think.. not like the proper semis where i would burn up the rubber on the steet within 2k kms..

so im kinda thinking i should just buy the gripper tyre for more fun on the street?... where the federals will probably just be the same as the falkens i have.. maybe even a little worse?...

tread wear

internet, just searching specs.

they arent the holy grail, but give you an idea..

just looked up my falkens and they are rated at 300, so will be an improvement!

im not sure haha... cant go past the value of federals.. but also wouldnt mind the nitto being a better tyre.. again though, there not $500 worth of better are they!

Nope and you are already going from 300 down to 240 which is an improvement!!

Ill see if i can find the info on this site of all the grippy tyres, be back in a sec!

Found it, was in the SAU Nats entry regs -

My bridgestone RE-01R's are rated at 140-180 lol. I knew they were sticky, didn't relise they were that sticky lol.

A few people i spoke too rekon you would get 15-20k kms out of them.

When i had the rears on the wrong sides they were shit. Epic wheel spin in the wet lol.

But after i corrected that, i found they griped fine. They floated a bit on the highway during the wet, but i think that was just due to the width.

oh yeah there directional. :-) and i should mention that they were bald too at that stage.

But getting back tto why i was looking for the wear value is that i'd heard these grip like FED RS-R's and wear like the RS's so i was going to say these might be an option for Ant (well the RE-02 anyway, which have repalced the Re01 and are apparently better again)

From memory the Re-01R's were about $360 a corner.

f*ck.

i have RE001 NOT RE01R's. got the names mixed up -sorry.

http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Bridgestone/

wear rating on the RE001 220

wear rating on the new RE002 is meant to be the same, but bridgestone claim its better.

http://www.bridgestone.com.au/tyres/treads/RE002.aspx

It should be mentioned that the RE001/2 are the successor to the bridgestone tyre that was developed/released with the r34gtr

I just read a few reviews..... Someone went from the current rears i have to the RE002 and said it changed the car!!! I assume there is going to be some wide 275 lines (on every private road) around here

doesnt look like they make them in the size i need, which im finding very common..

like the KU36s... dont even make them in a 19 im pretty sure.. im fairly limited when it comes to tyres!

still in between the two haha...

I think the only way is having a friend that works at a Nissan service centre to do it for on the sly. But that's impossible because people who work at our local Nissan service don't make friends because they are always screwing everyone over
