god damn i want this!!

mad price!

Rb28, -5 turbos (probs change that), seems like a heaps genuine seller, saying it has a couple dings but there getting fixed before sold.

also, found out today im not being kept on for my apprenticeship but i may get a job for the same company but maintaining the locos that ive built for the past year, better hourly rate, and rolling roster between day and arvo shift with 4 10 hour days with the option to work any friday. a bit keen...

yeah ill find out hopefully this week or early next if i get the job as the email and everything has been sent.

dont think im gunna worry about the mines, the casual blokes at my work are on 40 bucks an hour and thats standard for newy, when you think about the distance and then having to rent somewhere in singleton ill either be living rough or saving less money then working in newy and coming home to emma every night.

plus i doubt id get in a mine cause i dont have family in there :S

Saw that. good price....but way down on power for -5's...but it wasn't exactly seeing much boost. Also, don't know where you got the rb28 info from.

.8 sump with baffles??

that not 2.8??

yeah i thought that about boost, would expect 280 atleast

nope just an extended sump. Mine's still a 26 and holds 9L (11L if there's oil in the cooler)

rb26's can suffer from oil starvation. With a combination big G corners, high rpm's and a poor head oil drainage design, the result is that the stock pump can essential empty the sump and thus suck air = no oil for bearings = spun bearing. After market pumps can flow more then 25% higher then stock, so the problem is amplified. The larger sump capacity pretty much eliminates the lack of oil problem and the baffels keep the oil around the pick-up during high-g corners. n1 engines came stock with a higher oil capacity, so nissan was probarly aware of the problem from there racing experince.

ahh i see, fair enough then :P

whats the advantage of a bigger sump??

hey joel hows WA? good to see your still lurking newy :D:D:D

i still check in from time to time  . I'm bored at work and the WA section is dead.

WA's going well. Still haven't found a house yet though...and I'm really missing my tools (their in storage). Hopefully i'll have one by the end of the year and can start to settle in then.

ah right, where are you now then??

id imagine everything to be expensive as!

Work's got me a place in the middle of the city for a few months - it was part of a relocation package. Trouble is, i'm still working up in Port hedland, so i'm never actually in perth to be able to look for houses.

Yeah it's probably about 20%-30% more then newcastle for just about everything. But good city, very social.

I went 4wd on the weekend with a few mates, the old ferroza held up well conwsidering it's completely stock:

wow crazy!!!

newcastle is expensive enough!! cant beleive people buy investment properties in the illawarra compared to a lot of other places in the country!

jesus dude!!!

didnt know the old girl had that in her!!

    • Haha watch Alex's eye twitch when you mention Nistune to him in person lol. He's not a fan, then again it's quite a niche product. I personally don't mind them, but most usually steer clear from it. Word of advice, do not ground the AFM to the chassis, there are heaps of incorrect guides on the interwebs. Send both GND on the AFM back to Sensor GND on the harness.
    • Note I edited my post, so Sleeper's quote is not the same as what I meant any more.
    • That's a whole 'nother issue. Nissan ones get dirty and sticky. The coolant heats the wax pellet thingo to close the valve, so it is open when it is cold. And so if there is no coolant it just takes longer to close, because the heat has to soak all the through the inlet manifold.
    • I feel like this is crazy pills though. Isn't it locked up all the time anyway? It shouldn't flare anywhere if it only unlocks momentarily while it shifts gears. And if it flares like that when shifting gears, then the 8HP with a 5500 stall is not driving as well when on the road and/or track use..
