Sweet well have a bit of a crowd! Who's Tim??

So far we got

Me ant Ben mat benji Ben(xd) and Tim?

The cost of the harness for both was like $190 from ebays, and yeh feels like some fast and the furious shit strapping ur self it. The best one tho is when u roll through maccas drivethrew at 2am with a racing harness on in a GTR, the Jaws drop.

Total spent on the car now im around 15k still, but thats only stage 1 and i still need to do ECU clutch fuel pump and injectors.... Once its paid off and daily is aquired i will be putting in a half cage, rear seats out, big single, Fuel system ECU ect. lots of $$$$$$ and full engineer for the street. But that is along way off just pipe dream for now.

BTW does anyone know of an RB26/30 that has been stolen around newie/coast just saw one posted forsale saying it has no engine numbers.

PUTTY ROAD CRUISE

meet at beresfield bp at 9am (turn right at the round about at the end of the f3) where we met for martins cruise to singleton.

well discuss the route when we get there, aim is find all the fun bits on putty then find a turn around point, probably that petrol station thingy on putty.

That really sux matt, your having no luck with the car atm.

But yeah, +1 for HG.

Did someone say 3L bottom end rebuild? :woot:

no way 30! if it has done the HG, its only done it because its made the head studsa little longer.... New HG, ARP fittings, strap it down again and enjoy.

might have just been a brittle old top tank. I've had one crack before.

    • The best part is when you own the car long enough that you look back and find your OWN ham fisted amateur shit!
    • The annoying part about neglect, is when you start to replace one thing, and find ten more broken things. Ham fisted monkey repairs you normally only find out about when trying to do something unrelated! Ha ha   Neglect you can kind of anticipate the huge costs to fix it all. Ham fistedness is normally a shock the first time your work on a new old car, as everything "looked" good before.
    • For DBA, check out their guide table here. https://dba.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Direct_Replacement-Guide-2021.2.pdf   Additionally they have some other guides and info on how to make sure you choose the right pad.
    • Sorry, just assumed that talk of coloured pads meant EBC red/green/yellow/shit stuff. I don't know the DBA pads, but it's a reasonable bet that they will be OK. DBA make good stuff generally. Those 4000 series rotors I linked to are very good. I may well replace the RDA rotors I have with those when required.
    • The average previous owner for these cars were basically S-chassis owners in the US. Teenagers or teenager-adjacent. I often tell people that neglect is easier to fix than something that was actively "repaired" by previous owners.
