Melisa has a doe show on at the races for her friend

Lots of drinking and carry on

As for me I'm fixing cars on Sat and prob Sunday as well

Basically, just have to put the engine & gearbox back in. I think the only thing that i'm waiting on is for Paul to finish the exhaust (you should see the front pipe he made - absolutly awesome).

Aim is to have the car running by next sat/sun and then up to Jez's for a tune next time i have time off.

I plan to start a build thread eventually, might do it tonight after work if the internet holds out (its dodgy in port hedland)

I've already got my trade but not sure if the mines are the way to go or not with all the talk of downturns in prices and the boom being over etc

boom being over yet there still hiring people and cutting into mines? i dont care ill take 75k for 6 months work man.

im not looking to own the mine i just want to work there, why would i care if it closes?

personally, i think that is a massive load of shit. does every country all of a sudden not need coal??

Parts of the mine industry are flattening dude... It should pick up again in the near future I think. Mines are getting very tight in some areas, spending is down. My mate works for rio and was concerned for his job. The company I work for is 100% mine focused, and we are all and have been twiddling our thumbs for weeks!

^^^my flat mate got a redunency last week, does a similar sort of a job to you. There's just no project work in the hunter valley atm. it will pick up again - there's just a bit of oversupply atm.

sparky mate i can go anywhere (mackay) haha.

im not limiting myself to the hunter

Yea sounds good mate, the lull in the market is everywhere though (with regards to coal) as the price is shit, and it's cutting their profit margins I think..

But by Xmas / the new year I think it should be a lot better, and I reckon in your trade you will be fine.

our super secret meeting will determine the next one, will be hopefully startish october thatll make me happy haha

on another note doing a small photoshoot tonight if your keen pm me or jarrad for details

Are you working in the mines Sean? Get me a job next year when I get my trade?! :D

FIFO out of newy, 150k a year?

Hahaha

Nah mate, i sell cars to loaded miners though :)

FIFO is pretty huge up here, hard lifestyle though i wouldn't want to do it even though the money is insane.

    • Depends how low and tyre size. Should fit with natural camber, skinny tyres and rolled guards.
    • Hi guys, planning to get 18x9 +25 in fronts and 18x10 +25 in rears been reading the whole thread and cant really find anything   Anyone know if these will fit a r34 gtt with no scrubbing or guard work needed?
    • They usually get made by hand as part of any such swap.
    • Was planning on getting an R35 MAF and the adapter, should this be okay? Also any idea where I could get my hands on an intake pipe?
    • I mean yes, if you're starting from scratch on an unknown engine yes you don't need to be doing all kinds of math in the background but if you're doing relatively minor changes like AFM + injectors + boost up with some aftermarket turbos it takes quite a bit of math if you want to do something like maintain OEM fuel + timing tables but compressed and then a bit more load scale up top. I think I've spent too much time working on big engineering nightmares though so I'm a big fan of trying to constrain the scope of whatever work I'm doing as much as possible and trying to get it right before moving on. For example, a local owner just did the usual E85 + single turbo conversion to his R32 GTR and nearly burned his car to the ground doing some spirited driving up the local mountains. Turbine is unshielded and too close to the hood insulation. It's tough to balance "just get the project done" and "seemingly small details can cause massive setbacks I'm not willing to deal with".
