I'm trying to replace my fuel filter on my 98 r34 GTT, but I've stumbled on 2 things.

1. I do not know where the fuse is that drives the fuel pump, so I can't depressurize the fuel line

2. The hose on the old fuel filter is on SO damn tight that it wont even budge no matter how hard i pull. It's like the clamp squeezed the hose on so tight to the filter, as if it's been heatshrunk.

Anybody got any tips to as how I'd go about changing my filter? It's so frustrating!

I don't want to go to a mechanic either, kinda want to do it on my own.

thanks

I e never worried about depressurisong the fuel line. I just put a rag or container under it to catch leftovers its never very much.

There such a thing as a hose removing tool looks like a pair pliers but it pushes the hose of the fitting, ive never used it though. I use a pair of normal pliers give it a twist and pull, they can be hard to remove, if you have a hair dryer you could try warming the ruber i guess but ive never done that either...

thanks guys,

I finally did it. I guess i wasnt pulling (and twisting) hard enough before haha. But yeh, all good now, replaced and no leaks :)

i didnt bother taking out the fuse either, still couldnt find it lol.

I just opened the fuel cap to relieve some pressure.

Just get a Ryco fuel filter about $20 for autobarn, i think the model number is Z200 or Z201.

In my opinion if you have lots of fuel line and fuel filter hasn't been changed in god knows how long, just cut it and dont try pull it off cause it'll take a long time and the rubber might be dried up anyway lol.

Dont waste your money on "performance" fuel filters. The OEM is $40bucks i think but is exactly the same as the Ryco.
