Hey all,

Just wanted to share a little about what I have been working on in my spare time. This little project has allowed me to regain my sanity as I have been recovering from a serious motor bike accident over 10 months ago.

Some of the tools used for this fab were; bench grinder, vernier, various files, marker, ruler, jig saw, drill with small cutting disc supplied in dremil kit, drill press.

Recently I purchased a MASA style front bar for my S2 stagea off one of the boys here on the forum. Supplied with the bar was a set of LED indicators & some blanking plates made out of aluminium.

While I did like the idea of the blanking plates I wasnt sold on the idea of the rubber surround for the indicators, so I set about thinking about how I can fab some blanking plates to fit these LED lights into. I had a bit of scrounge about the place & found some pieces of perspex that would do the job nicely.

So far I've been working on this for aprox 5 weeks on & off, the idea is to make something similar to the factory indicator housing. As perspex can be a little tricky to work with & I'm no gun in fabrication but I knew how I wanted it to look.

The idea was to fab it out of several pieces & use araldite to hold it together. After several discussions with the old man (MAD SCIENTIST) as his colleagues at the railways liked to call him, we decided that not only would araldite be used but after both sides were completed they would be given a second skin of fibre glass for added strength & that smoother factory look (I hope).

Anyways, here are a few pics to get you started.......
