am a big fan of HTC phones, but the battery life needs some work on those things

Same. My last two phones have been HTCs and if my next isn't a Nokia Lumina, then it'll be an HTC of some sort.

Battery life on all current gen smartphones sucks nuts. Yet another thing I blame Apple for. If not for their bullshit "thinnest, lightest" marketing shit, our phones would all weight 50% more (at a whopping 160-180g) and have batteries which last a couple days with usage.

But since the iSheeple are so f**king weak they can't carry a phone that weighs more than 118g, battery life sucks balls.

f**k Apple, stupid f**ks.

Did Steve Jobs touch you as a child? You have a completely irrational hatred towards Apple that goes beyond their products.

It's not irrational at all.

Apple is the problem with smartphones, not the driver of innovation.

Apple products are shit, their OS is f**ked but their marketing rules.

f**k Apple.

I'm big kev atm

HTC M7 may be released as the successor to the One X and a mini butterfly is in the works with a 4.7" screen

but back to my point

iphones dont have a mini usb port?!?!?

are you fcuking serious?

wut... how is that possible... everything has a mini usb port!

Apple is the America of the tech industry. They just want to be different. NO logical reason for it. They just do it. Oh also money everything they do is for max gain profit wise. Hence a new iphone every 12 months. Hence now a new charger so people have to buy all new acces. No reason for it. They did it because they could. But hey. Look at apples shares, people are waking up to the fact and the company is in quite a bit of trouble if it keeps going the way it is. If it keeps falling how it is the company will be bankrupt in the next 5-10 years.

You used to make logical comments. That is not one of them.

The first iPhone, as utterly shitful as it was, did kickstart innovation in the mobile industry.

I could go on, but I'm betting you know this.

At the same time, it is my belief that there is no one driver of innovation in the mobile industry anymore. Apple have driven 'their' innovations, and acted like little bitches with big lawyers on retainer if anyone reinvents these features. Samsung have their innovations, as do HTC and even Nokia. Any time someone comes up with something genuinely innovative, the others come up with something the same or similar enough. This is a good thing for us, as consumers.

You're half right. About 25-50% of iPhone owners are the "iSheeple" that Aaron refers to, and they wanted a thinner, lighter phone. Couldn't happen without changing the adaptor mechanism. The physical size difference between the old dock connector and the new 'lightening' connector is crazy. The new converter adaptors are also ingenious in how they work, but you'd have a hard time convincing me that it was easier to do the adaptive pin assignment they've done from 30pin to 8pin adaptors than it was to do 30pin to 4pin micro USB.

There is a totally logical reason for Apple being 'different'. They're a marketing machine more than an engineering firm. They differentiate their products from the OS to the supply chain. They do an excellent job, sales figures reflect this. Is it for everyone? No way. But as Aaron points out, their marketing rules.

Why can't anyone make some educated arguments from time to time, rather than just bang on about 'iSheeple' and 'retards'?

Didnt apple rush out their first phone knowing it had bugs so they could beat others and claim they were the first even though this was not the case.

Same as their new one, it now seems.

Its good to see that Samsung has taken the lead in world sales, they are cheaper, work better and will talk to a heap of different styles of hardware/software.

It seems that the consumer is much smarter than Apple thinks.

This is the problem when a usefull tool becomes a fashion item, it stops being usefull.

But there will always be the fashion fanboys and girls who just want one, how good is advertising Eh!

No

The first iTunes phone was even worse, worse than the old Motorola Razr (the ones that failed every five seconds). It was SO bad Jobs literally shat a brick and used it to beat to death several employees while shouting "YOU'RE NOT MY REAL DAD!". He then kidnapped the entirety of the Sony mobile design team and stole all their work.

    • Hey guys. I have a 400R on its way to Australia from Japan currently and have a few questions I’m hoping others may be able to help with.   Wondering if anyone here has had any luck getting the Sat nav unit to work in Australia!? Assuming the Stereo is as simple as a band expanded and tv won’t work?  Seeing as they’re based off a Q50 which is Aus delivered is there any way to link that system to the nav? Nav modules and head unit are different part numbers and appear slightly different at the rear with plug ins etc. can I put my xtrail sd card into the rv37 and will that convert the maps or update to Australian? Has anyone got any advice here?     also has anyone fitted the factory remote start and Security system once it’s landed in Australia? I put an enquirey to Nissan Japan in via a third party, and they suggested it needs a Nissan Japan dealers device to setup and couldn’t guarantee if one here could do it or not. They can supply and I can physically fit it but to setup I would need a dealers device. Any information here would be appreciated also. I’ve seen one here with it fitted already prior to leaving Japan at a dealer/inporter, so clearly passes compliance and works when fitted Japan and doesn’t need changing here.      also, does the tyre inflation sensors work here? Does anything change with them when the vehicle arrives? Where are they actually situated? I’ve read they have batteries and they need to changing at times and seems like resetting involves the nav system?    any help here would be appreciated and any other aust specific information to help would be great. Looking forward to see what the current generation skyline is like and eager to see how many of the gadgets can be utilised here.  Thanks in advance
    • Do need to take it with a pinch of salt. One of the adapter failures, they clearly had setup issues with the flywheel.  One of the slipping ones I spoke to and it was pretty clear the throwout was riding, rather than fix, just swapped to a new clutch.    These clutches are being put in anything from 5k offroad 4x4 beaters, GR yaris, 500hp commodores to 1200hp barra monsters. Bound to be some issues in some of them when they are not a simple bolt in affair due to the changes in height.    There is a lot going on in this picture and unless I did the job myself no way to tell what really happened.
    • I did this mod in 2019  You just have to modify the top bracket of the ABS/TC/Fuel Pump Control ECU so it sits more upright and closer to the back seat and run a good quality positive battery lead from the engine bay, the negative lead i just bolted down to the body in the boot.
    • Damn... Not the feedback I want to hear.
