Cat Welding

Hey there fabricators. I've never needed to get anything welded up so I thought I would pop in here and ask .... I bought a new Venom cat, and am putting that on my car, but the spot to screw in the EGT sensor is bigger than on my old cat .... So I want to get the screw in bung lopped off my old cat, and welded onto the new one, both are off the car already.... How much would anyone expect an exhaust shop would charge to do that?

Can't you just weld on a new one? They aren't expensive. Is you new cat mild or stainless? I wouldn't charge more than $30 to supply it and weld it in.

Well if a new one was available then sure a new one would be fine too, wasn't sure how easily I could pick that up, and if it would cost more than just cutting this one off and putting it on the new one, but thanks, gives me a ball park on cost

ive used a Datsun wheel nut on a homemade de-cat once! wrked great!
