Hi all - I recently just purchased myself a Skyline from a Forum Member, here's the dealio:

It's an '89 R32 GTS-T Type M.

It has a weirdly tinted blue/teal silver paint job.

It has 17", 8"F and 9"R wheels - unsure of make/model of wheels - but they are bloody light, and have a nice little badge on the back saying "made in japan." They are two piece - if anyone can tell me what they are, I'd appreciate it.

It has non Projector lights (had projector lights, but he swapped them out..), has foglights - but not fitted.

It is currently sitting with a GTS Bar jammed up it's face, I'd like a GTR bar and guards - but we'll see what happens down the track.

It has the big Type M brakes - nothing special really, just Red 4 pot front, 2 pot rear brakes. And it needs new rear rotors... lol.

It has a black bootlid, with no spoiler - because the owner before the previous owner didn't like the wing - which in my opinion - makes the ass a little nicer.

It has no badges - as it got "badged" just before I bought it.

It has fully-sick-spec Rusted rear guards, and slightly impact damaged front guards (who needs pumped guards? Just hit a speed hump with low ass coil-overs..)

It has front Castor Bars.

It still has HICAS - which has so many extra lines in the back - that in the time I had free today - I couldn't be F'd removing, looping and putting in HICAS wheel lockers.

It has a dying Stock Turbo.

It has a full 3" quiet exhaust system. (I like it.. haha)

It has Tein Coilovers - non-adjustable.

It has a Turbo timer, oxy sensor, fancy 4 option doo-dad neatly packed in below the guage cluster.

It has a full alarm and immobiliser system.

It has a new headunit, new speakers, but the Sub was removed - tossing up getting one.. or just pulling the line out. (still in there.. not visible in the interior though - so it's all good.

Extra's it came with:

Steering rack arms.

R34 Turbo. (spinning the shaft seems pretty stiff - new to turbo's - so I have NO clue what that means)

Foglights.

Turbo SMart Boost Tee.

Stock Suspension

Fancy deep dish, race styled Steering wheel with the funky yellow "I'M THE TOP FOOL!" tape made into the rubber rim.

Boss kit that doesn't disrupt HICAS for said steering wheel.

Air Flow Meter for the R34 Turbo.

Pro's:

Interior is in bloody good condition, the drivers seat has a minor tear due to constant use - like 99% of car seats..

And the Leather shifter, E-brake, and steering wheel trim are all worn - but it's all good - they are doing an OK job for now - will replace them with good new aftermarket ones (plain boring old black ones.. lol) eventually.

Everything infront of rear quarters (back of the doors) is A1. No bent sills, minor oil leak, paint is good.

It's a Type M.

Tyres all all good, fronts have about 40% tread, rears are almost new. Not that it matters much - I have RSR's I can wrap on the rims instead. I have a lot of RSR's infact.

So many - that we have a whole rack at work dedicated to different sized Khumo RSR's. And I get them all at cost price. :woot:

Headlights will take H4 Xenon bulbs straight up, no modification. Just plug and play (apparently - we'll see how much I have to do when I get a set)

Cons:

Rear guards are rusted.

No Spoiler, mis-matched boot.

Needs rotors front and back (getting larger fronts - slotted, and slightly larger standard rears.)

Right hand drivers door window seal needs replacement.

Steering rack ends are locked hard - I couldn't undo them on the alignment machine at work. NEW RACK - WOOOOOOOT. lol. (I love the way this thing tracks the road, so raw a feeling, much nicer than the supra - little more scary too.) Managed to adjust the rods enough to get her tracking straight on the road - with +3.4 left toe in, and +4.7 right toe in - with -1.1 degree camber either side. I'd like it around.. y'know.. 0.7 a side toe - but as I said - a bit hard.

There's clutch play, minor movement - but it locks hard, I think it's just the actuator - will have it up again to fix it.

THE WORST ISSUE: Driving along, decellerating - she just wants to die, I can't clutch roll her - I have to downshift constantly to stop her from dying - or go fully-sick and heel & toe the brake and gas to keep the revs up so she doesn't stall. That being said - when she's about to stall the lights on the dash fade, then go out if I don't rev it.

She has a new alternator, but I'll check that anyway - what i noticed was the accelerator cable was loose (to the throttlebody) will make it taught while she's idling to see if I can pull her in and keep her at 900 rpm idle that way - if not, and I listen to what the other Mechanic says and "BUY AN RB25" - then the problem will be solved. lol.

Handling - in a small area - like a car park - you can't turn the wheel very far either way - pretty sure it's just all R32's - I'm just used to the multiple rotations required to turn a Toyota Su-Boat-Pra.

Still turns just as well - slightly decreased turning circle - but made up for in the fact it's like a Go-Kart. lol

So for 8,000 she wasn't an amazing buy.

Really - 7,000 would have been better.

But I got some bonus parts - and a car that drives really well, comes on boost nicely and is sort of tastefully maintained. Even though it cuts out randomly, and the turbo is dying.

Still a great car - go-kart handling, light, clean, quiet - until she spools.. haha.

I like the stance - quite Beefy with those rims. Still undecided...

I like this pic - next expenditure - a good camera - these are taken with my Toshiba 7" Tablet. lol.

So..

Clean...

These are the rims at work I am thinking about getting - they are the perfect offset to line them up with the guards and would look pretty neat being the same stance.

They are 18" Advanti Samurai's - Fluro Yellow.

Still undecided - they aren't exactly "low-key" haha.

Might pull off the ones I have on it, clean them up, powder coat them, repair the gutter rash - I just donno if I'll keep them black - might make them something brighter.

Or might make them Silver.

So this is my R32 weekly driver project. (weekly because I shouldn't be driving it on my P's. )

And - 58 bucks to fill up the tank.

Not bad. :-)

Anyone got a city driving KM/Tank guestimate for me? Thanks. :-)

And for anyone wondering - "PPP Sleeper" Stands for "Project P Plate Sleeper" - I know - Creative youngin' ain't I?
