Hello, Up for sale is a Toyota MR2 with Lexus 3VZFE Conversion. I will briefly go over the pro's and con's of the vehicle. The asking price is $10,000.

Engine rebuild owes over $5,000.00 and Brake setup cost over $1400.00 and coilovers $2,200.00 etc etc

The car has the following positives

  • Registration till March 2013
  • Rebuilt 3VZFE approximately 10,000km ago (All bearings replaced, new head-gaskets, seals, and the heads both serviced).
  • During the re-build, the bottom end of the motor was blue printed, including pressure plate, flywheel, crank, main pulleym rods and pistons, ported and flowed heads from 150cfm to just over 300cfm, oversized pistons by .5).
  • 315cc injectors (out of the 7MGE Supra NA Motor).
  • Perfect power SMT6 piggy unit to control/tune the upgrades.
  • Extra ground cables added to make the sensors more precise.
  • Stock extractors (little performance gains if aftermarket ones are added).
  • Stock Y pipe has been deleted, and they've been made into uneven head lengths to a collector, into a new 3 inch cat and 5zigen dual tip exhaust.
  • 17x7.5 ENKEI rpo1 with 215/30 tyre up front and 18x8.5 ENKEI rpo1 with 245/45 tyre in the rear
  • Upgraded brakes front - 4 piston callipers off 300zx, with lexus ls400 front discs, rear - stock gen3 callipers with Mazda rx8 rotors with braided brake lines al round and a 1 inch master cylinder making the peddle softer and the braking power a lot more stronger.
  • KYB gymkhana coil overs which were bought brand new.
  • Cusco front/rear strut braces.
  • An assortment of gauges including oil temperature, water temperature, vacuum, air flow ratio and so on.
  • Alpine type R splits, alpine head deck with a 8 inch Schneider sub all powered by an alpine amp, total stereo cost me in excess of 2500

And here are the negatives.

  • Paint is not in the best condition as it has a faded patch above the rear window, a few scratches, and the likes, that you would normally see on a 1989 model vehicle, its not bad, but it is not show room condition either.
  • Guards have been flared and painted over lightly as to stop rust
  • interior has a few broken plastics, passenger window is optionally operated by the drivers side but works fine on the passenger side
  • has no cold start, so it would involve you sitting with the car for a few minutes keeping it on idle till it was warmed up, after that shes perfectly fine
  • doors have to be locked manually, hard to explain on here, but if you came to see the car it could be shown to you in person.

Cash on pick up, or money transfer (the car will be released once money transfer clears).

I encourage people to inspect the car, but a deposit of 25% of the asking price is required before letting you take it for a test drive, however I am more than happy to take you for a drive free of charge.

Private message me for more details and if you would like any further information that has not been covered in this for sale ad. The car is located in Hichinbrook, NSW which is near Liverpool.

    • KYBs are typically twin tube, putting them in the lower tier of desireability. Do you just want to replace worn out ones for the lowest cost? I mean, you wouldn't just replace one end of a car, if the rears are a similar age to the fronts, then they are probably nowhere near what they should be, and likely won't be great against brand new fronts. So, to spend ~$800 on 2nd tier dampers, when you could get a decent set of MCA coilovers for <$4k.....? As to the strut tops. 1st up, the Sparesbox site specifically tells you that they are not correct for an R33. Beyond that, why do you think you need them?
    • That's not very Toyota of the Toyota!
    • Bringing an old thread back to life Looking to put some new front shocks in the r33Gtst and the KYB still look ok for a road car. Unless there are any other options aroind that price $200 a shock?  I’d like to replace the strut tops also, is this the correct KYB no. For the strut top, KSM7124?  https://www.sparesbox.com.au/products/kyb-strut-top-mount-ksm7124?srsltid=AfmBOoq-HDru8wSlLnQrhU9gCw_uYdKg8gUQzONY-EQOdnI5iXOWEUjY 341287 appears to be the front KYB shocks part no.  thanks all
    • LandCruiser used to get a fluid flush every 12 to 18 months.   Only because it was about that often the electric motor on the master for brake assist kept dieing and needing to come off.
