Electric Impact Gun - My Experience

I thought id recently share my experiance for anybody thinking of getting one as i found it hard to find any first hand reviews. I have a home garage so dont have air. I have a few things i need to get undone like flywheel bolts, half shaft nuts ect. Not having an impact gun often meant hours and hours of trouble and sometimes not being able to get the job done. I through id buy one off ebay and give it a shot.

Long story short is its the best money iv ever spent. Had the half shaft axle nuts undone in about 2 seconds and a flywheel off in about 3 mins. 4 of the flywheel bolts came off no dramas. 2 were a bit more stubborn and took a bit more effort but still came off prity easily.

i bought a $79 one rated at 260nm. I later on found out they had another one for $129 and it has 500nm. Wish id seen that first and would definetley get that next time if i ever kill this one. i had previously tried a cordles Ryobi 1 impact rated at 260nm and that wouldnt do ether job that the corded Demac one would.

You guys never heard of leverage?

I got a compressor and air tools but I never use the shit cause by the time I get them out I can have the job done with hand tools...

I had my 1m breaker bar and another bar over it to extend it about another 1.5m on the stub axle nuts. i was using all of my 90+kg to jump on it and still couldnt undo the nuts. The breaker bar was bending a fair way but the nuts wouldnt crack.

Maybe im useless i dont know. No need to be rude mate. Just passing on the fact that these things can get shit done when i and im sure others doubted their usefullness. That being said its alot easier to grab extension cord than set up a compressor, charge it ect. i possibly could have done both those jobs another way. Point is this tool made it easy.

The instace i couldnt get it done was when i had the sub axles still connected to the hub's. Diff was out of the car and dont have a vice at home. Good luck undoing those without some kind of impact in that situation.

Sorry mate didn't mean to be rude, your right. Why waste $$$ on multiple bending breaker bars for the same price the gun eh? Im just saying if you can get the bastard off with man power its a better feeling at the end of the day.
