Hey lads

Got a set of defi's soon to be installed in my ceffy, I got boost, oil pres, water and oil temp.

I'm unsure where to place the gauges tho, I have the defi gauge cups also.

I was thinking maybe above the glovebox on the grove that's their in the cups on a slight angle towards driver..

I'm hoping some peeps on here can share their ceffy gauge layout pics?

Would be a great help for ideas.

Cheers much

Tom

I've got my boost gauge mounted onto the A pillar trim. You'll be able to get 3 along the pillar trim no worries if they're 52mm, 4 might be pushing it. If they're 60mm, might be a different story.

I think Dan_J (?) mounted his water temp gauge in place of the regular temp gauge on the cluster but that gauge was smaller than 52mm.

I used to have my boost gauge mounted in front of the 2 centre air con vents, and since putting it on the A pillar trim I wouldn't put it anywhere else. Soo much easier to see now.

I'd put either 2 onto the pillar (boost and oil pres. more important) and the other 2 onto the panel above your knee's (oil and water temp. less important). Shouldn't be too hard to quickly glance at every now and then.

Alternatively relocate the air con controls to the second DIN, and put 2 gauges into a plate and put that where the air con controls would normally go.

I don't really see the point of mounting gauges on the passenger side of the car, you'll never get a chance to read the gauges properly while you're driving.

Do ya just use one of the generic double sided tape fixed a pillar mounts?

Kinda wanted to keep them off the a pillar out of sight of the five oh especially at night but it certainly makes sense for oil pres and boost to be their in ya line of sight..

I'm also setting up a big auto meter shift light to a oil pressure switch so it shines me in the face if I am ever to loose oil pressure.

lol like minds??

was thinking about that the other day, but the other idea is to replace the factory dash oil light with a bright LED to out shine the rest

will grab pics of my non defectable set up tonight, and nic its a normal 52mm gauge thats been taken apart from the cup, also replaced the old analog aftermarket temp gauge that was in my cluster with a smoked digital one

just realized how crap this camera is at night <_<

-water temp in cluster

-oil press mounted just under the climate control to the right and is viewable while driving/turning

-oil temp mounted on the left side where your left knee would be as high as possible away from clutch, need to kind of lean over to look at it unless you turn the wheel that right way

edit:

you'd want water temp, oil press and boost in your face if your drifting etc

I've mounted 3 of mine where the heater control unit is (removed the fascia) along with a thermo fan control switch. Mounted the boos gauge in the driver's side air vent, a 60mm gauge jams in there perfectly. No pics yet as I have to make up a metal plate to neaten it up a bit.

The hazzard light button has also been relocated to where the fog light switch was on the RHS of the steering wheel.
