i know this topic has been covered but i can't be bothered finding it and im quickly posting this because im at work.

one of my bulbs blew last night and my lights are pretty shitty on the inside so i want new ones. I heard the 06 G35 xenon projectors have really good output, but these lights will be LHD whereas i need RHD lights for our roads and laws, can anyone PLEASE recommend GOOD quality lights around the $500 mark for my 03 V35 Coupe

THANKS

i plan to buy a set of these in a couple of months :http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/LED-DRL-Angel-Eyes-Projector-Head-Lights-NIISAN-INFINITY-G35-V35-350GT-Coupe-2D-/130689091251?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e6dad46b3

but id give them a call 1st to see if everything matches your car. they are located in Vic from what i see and they should be for RHD cars

You are not going to find any for $500 (and those Mars performance ones are for LHD - I guarantee it). The ones we got through a group buy from Streeter in Jp were just under $600 delivered, but normal price is about $700 del. FYI Nissan quoted me $2,800 per light for stockers. Also I think if you are going to be fussy about the output then any aftermarket lights are not for you.

I would suggest emailing Jesse Streeter (an Aussie who lives in Japan) and see if he can find you some 2nd hand Series 2 lights/projectors in Japan. http://www.jessestreeter.com/ or email [email protected]

That's ok i don't mind spending $700 i just need them. Jesse streeter hasn't replied to any of my emails. No way am i going through Nissan lol.

Can you tell me EXACTLY the lights that you have AND how do you like them?

Persevere with Jesse - he does sometimes go mia due to drifting around Jp and gets a backlog of work - there are no holdups with the sending of goods once the transaction is up and running though.

No idea what ours are called - Jesse did post a Jp Yahoo link to them ages ago, but I can seem to find it.

Pic attached though

And in terms of performance, I don't think they give quite as good output as the stock lights, but are good enough in my opinion. Adjusting them is an absolute pita, but user dog with bone/Leo on here had a little bingle and while his car at the crash repairer he got them to adjust them and he says they came up a treat. I might even go ask a crash repairer to adjust mine for me too, as mine are far from perfect.

These say they are geniune Japan nissan so they might be RHD but the photo down the bottom shows a LHD G35 :/ :

Yeah bro gotta stay away from that LHD!

Those other lights are sweet, tossing up between those ones and these

I might actually go with ^^ because i'm going for a black theme with my silver paint. Black lights, wheels, mirrors, corners and smoked out tail lights :)

Since changed my mind again, only problem is these lights don't come with ballasts/bulbs this only includes the lights. How difficult is it to get matching bulbs/ballasts for these lights and are they cheap?

Also these are RHD and Xenon so good quality.

I have some standard ones for sale if anyone is interested please PM me. I also have a set of 2003-2005 taillights for sale. I haven't got around to advertising them yet. Where is the best place on here to advertise? In this forum, the SA one or somewhere else?

    • Does that price include the rack time to straighten the frame and body and replacement of parts and paint, as well as the noise and emmisions testing  The last engineering certificate I had done, albeit about 15 years ago, was around $1000 for a few inspections and the certificate
    • 😂 thanks guys. The diagram i had did not have the breather on it at all. Much appreciated.
    • Geez, engineers fees have definitely gone up. Mine back 2007 cost me all of $300. Mind you, I had to go back to him a few times to get him to write the correct things on the report after he'd inspected it. Things like wrong exhaust size, wrong wheel sizes, etc etc.
    • Can we see a scan of the original quote? The problem with engineers (and by this, I mean, all engineers across all engineering industries) is that there are "engineers" and there are "engineers" (you'll have to imagine the two different vocal emphases on those two versions of the same word. Engineering is a mindset - your farm kid who spent his life rebuilding the tractor will likely make a good engineer. The farm kid who spent his life taking photos of butterflies.. perhaps not. But on top of that mindset, the modern engineer has to learn how to write so that there is absolutely no way of being misunderstood. Proposals/budget estimates/quotations are one place where this is absolutely vital. You have to delineate your scope of supply with extremely hard boundaries, and anywhere where there is any possibility of not being able to have such a hard boundary, you need to write language that will cover you from scope creep, cost overruns, the inevitable interference of the client or their "engineer", etc etc. Now, if your clients are the BHPs and the Rio Tintos of the world, and similar, then you get good at this. If you are an automotive engineer, pitching work to the great unwashed masses, your skills in this area might not be well developed, because you're only dealing with knuckle draggers trying to get a big block legal in a Torana. And when I say "might not"....I'd suggest there's a better than even chance that any such skills might be completely absent. So, we might be able to look at your quote and see what the opportunities are for rebuttal.
