R32 Rb20 Tacho Problem !

hey guys,

new around here, and relatively new to nissans.

i searched the forums, but couldnt really find anything that relates to this topic.

i recently bought an R32 off a mate who had it converted from gts to gtst, so changed whole engine, ecu, looms and whatnot.

the tacho has never worked since i bought it, and im damned if i can work out why, have tried the 10k resistor trick between pin 7 & 49 on the ecu, still no reading from the tach signal wire, trying to install aftermarket tach.

i noticed pin 7 from the ecu splices off in to two wires about 100mm after ecu, dont know if its meant to?

any pointers as to what i can try?

Does the spliced wired look aftermarket? If it is, temporarily cut it and hook it up normally and see what happens.

nahh it doesnt, its the exact same colour and all

found this plug in the engine bay, hooked the multimetre up to it and pin 7 on the ecu, and it beeps, so i have no idea where it plugs in? anyone have any idea? cheers
