Hey guys im looking to buy a r34 gtr. I dont really want to spend 50k so im looking at more of the lower end of the scale. Theres one in Prairiewood NSW that has caught my eye but the price seems low im wondering whats wrong with it. Does anyone know this car? http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/nissan-skyline-2000-11849290?base=1216&vertical=Car&cr=4&eapi=2&__N=4294739858%204294856205%201246%201247%201252%201282%204294963846%204294963593%201216&silo=Stock&Range=Price:Min,Max~1&sort=default

Any info on the car would be great. Thanks guys

i dont know the car.. i dont know the owner..

but im finding it very hard to see what your problem is?? you dont want to spend $50k.. but one for $40k must have something wrong with it?? is this your logic?

its a FOR SALE addvert, call the guy selling it and ask about the car!!!

It does seem a little cheap considering the mods and KM.

But then again, sometimes it just takes one person to sell it cheap and others follow. Could be a good buy. Best bet, go see it! Impossible to really tell from photos that to me look like have been instagrammed to death.

looks good to me...

Do Eeeeeet!

seriously curious how this goes as its my dream car too, im a few years off affording one but hope they drop a little more in price but i doubt it will be ever much less than 40k

get a mechanic to make sure its tip top and go for it!

This

For the price it looks like an absolute bargain. Worst case motor blows, big deal put a 2.8 stroker in it and have a beast for under $50,000.

To put things in perspective there is no way on earth you could build a reliable (use this term loosely) 400kw+ 34 GTR and get any change from $60,000 including purchase of the vehicle.

So was it good?

Dont really want to bad mouth the car and stuff up his sale, but i will say this.

looked like it had a rear end accident (not 100% on this, only looked at it briefly as very early in the inspection i knew it wasnt the car for me), looked like a pretty average respray job on most of the car, and the front bar looked like it had been sprayed in a backyard (could still see large sections of white where they didnt paint in the vents etc)..

the engine work looked ok though.

I wouldn't be surpised if he accepted 30k given its been on the market for a long time.

Just beware of structural damage as you will get a lot of problems if it hasnt been repaired properly.

Id buy a car with a perfect body and a blown engine (can be replaced easily), over a car with a messed up body and a good engine anyday.

Cheers for the input guys. This was the kind of info I was looking for, someone that has actually looked at the car before. Even better a actual GTR owner (Rather nice one aswell  ). I would love to go look at the car in person but seeing as im in a different state I would rather try and find out some info on the car first before I was a flight over. I even seached through the forums to try and find the owner.

    • They see me rollin' they hatin'....... Took me most of the day to make the necessary mods to the mounts to make them fit the car.  Fortunately I was able to just use the mounts that came with the rotisserie. The rear ones are really secure, the front I feel i might reinforce a bit more as it doesn't seem like enough attachment to the vehicle. I'm sure it's fine but better to be safe than (extremely...) sorry.  I drilled and tapped thread into additional M12 holes to each car mount where it attaches to the rotisserie as an extra fail-safe. Without them the side to side movement is just restricted by the allen head pinch bolts, nothing actually goes though the beam. Does now! I still need to adjust the rotisserie to get the car centred in terms of centre of gravity. If it's too high or too low relative to the rotational centre line of the car, it will be like a turtle and roll onto its back or as it currently sits, I dont think I'd be able to rotate it as it sits as it needs to lift the whole car up as it rotates. Ain't happening... I'm going to be nervous as hell the first time I go to spin it on its side...
    • Oh yes done this when the window started flopping around.  Turns out the guides that run along the rail chanel had crumbed way. Took off the door card and pulled out the window mech, then the window, which you have to pull out through the top. As said unbolt the guide rail and don't spend 30 minutes getting frustrated trying to find a way to slide it out upwards cause that don't frigging work. Drop it down and out through the door hole. All I did to repair it was slice some 10mm clear plastic tube, vertically, then screw it to the guide rail both sides. This tubing rolls inward on both sides and leaves a gap wide enough to hold the window. To finish all I did was lube the plastic tube with olive oil and Bob's your uncle . . . well if he has the operation he can be your Aunt ! !  10 bucks in plastic tube and another 5 minute job done again . . . . YEH BULLSH#T ! My love for Skylines knows no bounds !
    • So was there a solution to this problem? I’m having this issue now.
    • not expensive, just irreplaceable if you don't go sub 60 at wakie in that thing people will start talking
    • I haven't replaced that, but I have had the doors apart on the r32 a couple of times The door skin will be held on by a combination of clips and bolts, just take it slowly and make sure all the sneaky hidden bolts are out Once the skin is off you should be able to pop that piece off pretty easily, looks like there are only 2 bolts holding it on
