Rb26 Melting Pistons

Had a standard rb26 and the thing melted the outsides of 4 pistons an lost compression and stalled like it run out of fuel what the hell is going on here !!!

Fuel pump can't flow enough > lean > hot > melt stuff

My car is a gtst 33 with rb26 engine in it

Wonder what's a good cheap fuel

Pump for it u don't reckon the injectors could cause that the fuel

Didn't "stall". It siezed.

Needs a teardown to find out how much damage was done.

Your request for a fuel pump recommendation is useless without telling us how much power you are making or intend to make.

yeah sounds like it leaned out and melted stuff.

need a full rebuild and need to know what part fkd out and killed it.

need to check the entire fuel system.

I have a new motor just wanna replace fuel pump I have a standard rb26 boosted up to 14psi with a full exhaust and pods that's all mate

I hope you werent running a stock R33 GTSt pump with those mods.......

First thing, make sure your fuel pump is receiving full voltage, then if the pumps dodgy get an intank nismo.. Or just get a new pump anyway

They're not good enough to hold up an RB25 these days. All too old. A boosted RB26 would take it right over the top.

You melted some pistons, and now you want a cheap fuel pump? You need to run a good fuel pump and a good tune, maybe even invest in a afr gauge with a wideband sensor!

Exactly what I was thinking...

Cheap is not the best solution.

Nismo intank or a Bosch Motorsport - either way looking at between $200-$400. For such a cheap part... Worth spending on something decent.

Are you talking about the long run? or were you on 500hp on a 33gtst pump? lol
