Do r33gtst stock fuel pumps hummmm..?

Hi,i was just wondering is the stock R33GTS-T fuel pump meant to make a humming sound or would that push you more towards it being a different pump than standard?

Stock pump should be quiet unless it has problems. Otherwise it may be an aftermarket.

Well now i know that im thinking that it could be a gtr fuel pump.i wont know till i have a look....its been making that noise since i can remember...sweet if it is..

GTR pumps are _damn_ loud. Well mine is anyway and that's in a hatch so i don't have a seat to muffle the sound.

Hmm..... I was told a stock GTR fuel pump is suppose to be quiet too if it's installed properly in the tank (not externally mounted).

Really, everyone else i've talked to with them in s13's have said theirs are really loud too. Mine's only getting 9V (soon to upgrade wires to 8 gauge or similar to get it more power) and i can hear it 15 metres away no worries.

They are soft in a GT-R because it's in a rubber sheath.

Most likely they installed it in your cars without the rubber sheath.

They are even louder than old Bosch 044 pumps!

Where can I buy a rubber sheath for my 044? Is there a one-size-fits-all thing I can get for it?

Yer mines SO LOUD, how do you quieten them down? Is rubber sheath is the go?

That's the strange thing - new 044 pumps (like mine are very quiet) until you give it a big ol' hit on the gas pedal and then the pump accelerates up and shoots up more fuel.

In theory if you cover it in that rubber and mount it on rubber washers, the pump should be quiet. No idea if you can knock one up from Clark rubber or somesuch.

the stock rubber sheath from the GTR pump did not fit my stock in-tank fuel pump mount thingy in my R32 GTS-T, so the rubber was removed. very loud, ask Tony hahaha..
