Hey guys

So after Paden from Unique Automotive fixed my first issue, and the rep he has Ive decided to do my full service with him. Have gotten stung in the past though so just confirming that this is a fair figure.

Wanted FULL service done -

Timing belt etc(everything that's done in 100 000km service as car hasn't had one)

Water pump change

Fuel filter change

Transmission fluid flush , refill and tranny filter change

Coolant flush

Basic oil service

Quick checkup to make sure everything is okay

I purchased the car with 115 000km on it and have done 2000km. Everything works fine but I plan on adding a front mount , exhaust and turning up the boost a little.

Since I haven't serviced the car since I bought it I am unsure of the condition of the engine(although there doesn't seem to be anything majorly wrong) so before I turn the boost up or do any kind of power mods I want to make sure that I have a solid base to work on.

All genuine parts/seals are going to be used.

He mentioned he overquoted me just incase and going by his rep he is ALWAYS fair but does $1500 seems like a good price for all of the above?

Also , do you guys reckon it would be better for me to get GENUINE parts of eBay etc (timing belt kit , oil coolant , filters etc) and only pay for labor?

If they supply pays they will always add markup. Buy your own parts and it should work out cheaper.

created another thread asking this exactly....Ive found what they claim to be OEM parts and they seem to work out much cheaper...

Ive been able to find 100 thou service kits on eBay for a tad over what a single water pump would cost me ($370)

http://www.ebay.com....984.m1438.l2649

and

Motul 4100 + filter for a good price as well.($90)

Are there any horror stories of 100 thou service kits from eBay failing? ALL the items are listed as genuine OEM NISSAN/NSK so I don't see why there would be a problem, however Im not willing anything stuffing up to save a few bucks as im planning to turn the boost up shortly so want to make sure this is a good decision.

I know just how important this service is and if i have to , Ill simply pay the $1500 , just looking a cheaper alternative. Has anyone gone this route before?

get the Kudos motor sport 100k sercive kit, Tell them to do the work.

via the searches ive seen that his kit has been recommended countless number of times....

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Nissan-Skyline-R33-GTS25T-100-000km-Service-Kit-RB25DET-/220472911339?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item335535a5eb

yet it has the exact same parts as this one :

Why the price difference? What makes the Kudo one worth $60 more?

i know kudo has somes options on OEM or aftermarker parts for timing belt and water pump. Jump on the site and have a play around.

done that ,has the exact same parts as the other kit

Have messaged kudo via ebay and asked them , will post answer when they reply.

Honestly im thinking of just forking out the extra $60 and going with the kudo's kit as they have been used countless of times in the past. The last thing I want to do is try and save $60 and end up with parts of inferior quality

Mate if its one thing ive learnt form dam imports, Pay once, do it porperly and foget about it.

Ive litreally lost Thousands stuffing around trying to do stuff on the cheap.

done the same with the supra. spent so much looking for el cheapo ways , would of cost half as much and performed twice as well if it was done right the first time

done that ,has the exact same parts as the other kit

Kudos are a trusted SAU Trader... If you scroll down a bit you'll see their trader area a few sections down.

Beats playing ebay fee's and all that kinda shit...

Plus Kudos is Australian - not Japanese. So they are subject to higher costs which GST adds $40 instantly... (and the rest of the b/s taxing).

You deal with an Aussie business, with an Aussie face... Not some O/S place if stuff goes wrong, you wait weeks/months etc. It also looks like 7-10 day shipping from the other mob where Kudos will at least half that.

excellent reasons to buy from them.will be purchasing a kit. Thank you.

ok im ordering both the ancillary belt kit (power steering aircon etc) and the 100k service kit from kudo. Ive already ordered 5L of 4100 turbolight and a bosch oil filter.

basically have just three more questions....

- what diff oil would you recommend? How much would I need to do a complete change?

- would the motul dot 5.1 suffice for my needs for brake fluid (daily driver with spirited driving now and then), and how much needed for full flush

-what coolant would you recommend and how much would I need for a full flush.

head over to the oil section, pretty sure someone has outlined exactally how much goes were.

Anything dot4 and above is good, GLS rally have some fully syth and good prices. will need two bottles.

Dont mix dot 4 with 5. ect

Little steep on price IMO. Had timing belt / water pump / coolant flush done with me supplying parts...can't remember it being much more than $400 for the labour and $300 for my parts...

hmm , WITH all my parts and all fluids he is charging me $715....

that seems like alot , but I know he does good work. Do i pay this much for that quality of work?

Yeah sounds alright. There would be cheaper around, but sometimes it's better to pay for a reputation.

Lucky down here in Vic we have some cheap AND reputable places.
