I'm adding you all to the list, we will be restricted by numbers, between 15-20 cars approx., so SAUWA will have preference, and then any others till we make the numbers:D

Cheers

Paul

Hey paully,

Can I come out and play. Rick has finished the photo shoot of the car for another mag :aroused: . Love to bring the car along for this shoot. Let me know dude. :)

Wrong way to go about a photoshoot if you ask me!

I say get EVERYONE along to the motorplex for a giant group shot as well as the smaller feature articles that go along with it. You can be picky with which of the cars get more features. There should only be limited spots for the individual car shots, etc. Not the entire event.

Make the event open to everyone to wash thier cars, bring them along, no matter how stock, how N/A, how dead clutched etc.

I'm sure a panoramic group shot of 50+ skylines in the pit lanes taken from the dragstip overpass would be a big win.

Just my 2c. Knowing all the long-time SDU/SAU'ers would probably think the same.....

Its aimed at SAUWA members, why should non members get the perks others paid for? The last Club shoot HPI had in it, had about 20 cars and 6 small features car bits. We currently have about 20 members (not all financial yet) these are the people who should get first dibs. After they have replied we should then open it to non members.

there is also alot of us still waiting to hear back from zanda etc regarding membership, and payment of it etc etc.

but i think having a shoot with ALL members should be allowed... not just random skyline owners who ARENT part of the club. and not necessarily those who have paid.

Like even the long time forum users etc such as strich9 who have been a part of the community for a while, but jus havent gotten around to signing up for membership. (there are also those who ahve, but yeah... u get my drift).

If you have an issue with the memberships - ie you havent heard anything back from Zanda , please put these in the membership thread. Zanda has no internet access at work, so cant be at everyone's beck and call 24/7. He is trying his best at home to get it all sorted, I am sure he will get in contact with everyone soon.

I've had experience in all kinds of car clubs for the last 5+ years, and seen many of them go down the toilet (and I don't mean just shut down) due to silly things like this. A lot of people feel left out when an even like this happens, and when people get told they can't front up for a group shot just cos they're not a member.....

*sigh* I digress.

There's nothing wrong with including EVERYONE that makes the club what it is today, and so what if Rick (the almighty god-kisses-my-shoes photographer) says he won't do a group shot?

It's all about promoting a healthy/community based club, denying people an opportunity to partake in events like this doesn't help.

As the committee you all should have raised a thread seeking the general member consensus, before setting a date, and going ahead straight away. The committee, whether they like it or not should represent EVERY SAU forum user in WA, not just the 20+ who have a membership card.

I guess that's the difference with a club like RICE, compared to SAU....

There. I've said my 2c.

*Sigh*

You are never going to satisfy the general population to suit everyone's opinions. I've been a member here for ages, I attend the odd cruise, participate on the forums where I feel I can contribute and as such I've signed up as a financial member and have expressed an interest in attending this photo shoot. As was said in whoretown but probably not read by many people, this is a good way to get people to sign up and support the ever growing community that is SAUWA. If financial members aren't going to get a priority over non-financial, what's the benefit to them apart from self knowledge that they are supporting the club?

How would you feel about all the financial memhers being right up the front of the photo then and everyone else way down the back where you can barely make out your car? And how do you then think a financial member would feel if they were right down the back while other non-financial members were right up the front? You just can't satisfy everyone and at least this way, people are reaping some perks by supporting the club they like financially.

I understand you have signed up as a financial member and have been around a long time too and i'm not saying your opinion is wrong, but I feel that the way this has been organised is fine and shows the members that they are getting something from their money apart from just friendships and a flashy card.

Now that's MY 2c!

*end rant*

Kym - the shoot is being done to promote the club - the official club , that people have paid for, that sponsors are sponsoring. Yes the net forums of casual cruisers that made it was it is today - but this is promotion for SAUWA not www.skylinesaustralia.com The forums are for people with a common interest, the club SAUWA is for people who want benefits from an official membership. Benefits such as getting their car in a magazine

The committee was elected for the official club - to get it up and running, not oversee'ers of a forum... thats Pranks job. We are trying to promote the club, promote membership, promote sponsors - not the forums. Look at PPCC for example - thay have specially designated areas for members only where only members are invited to things like this. They won "best club" at drag Combat - so obviously this tatic has not failed for them.

The date was set by the photogragher - not us.

Paul has not said NO to anyone who has asked to be in the shoot (skyline owners), and no "old schoolers" have asked to be in it anyway.

The committee, whether they like it or not should represent EVERY SAU forum user in WA, not just the 20+ who have a membership card.

I guess that's the difference with a club like RICE, compared to SAU....

There. I've said my 2c.

As Liz has said thats where your wrong Kym. The Club SAUWA and the WA section of the skylinesaustralia.com forum are two seperate things. If you can't see that its not my problem, its the same way the New South Wales and Victorian Clubs operate.

    • What an awesome idea to fit the facelift Lamborghini Diablo headlights. They are a perfect fit!
    • An update regarding the registration with the DVLA I sent off the paperwork the day after I collected the car from the port, two weeks later it was all returned with a letter explaining they have rejected the application. This was because the cheque was £20 short for the road tax (I used a price list I found online). Nevermind it is what it is, it was sent back to them the following day with a new cheque. Fast forward another 2 weeks or so, I called them for an update to be told it had been rejected. Yesterday (16th September) I received the documents back along with another letter, this time it was because I didn't put an X in one box on the V750 (personalised number plate certificate), which declared that I had the rights to the personalised number plate. Why this wasn't mentioned in the first rejection letter, I don't know, but it could have saved this headache. The documents were sent back today, so fingers crossed third times a charm and it'll FINALLY be registered on the road just in time for the bad weather (woohoo!) To cheer myself up I lowered the front 25mm, was sick of seeing it sit like a monster truck. No idea how much clearance I'll have getting on and off the driveway, I'll worry about that when I can actually drive it
    • You're going to miss not worrying about rust in the strut towers like the Skyline shitboxes out there
    • A few little updates that weren't filmed due to not taking long to do or not interesting enough for their own video. My new K&N Air Filter arrived, I went with an RU-4180 which matched the dimensions of the universal cone filter the car originally had.  The battery had gone flat, while that was charging I tidied up the spaghetti wiring at the bulk head and down the sides of the engine Next job was to swap the stereo The Kenwood harness had the female ISO plugs cut off and the male ISO plugs cut off the adaptor loom and joined with bullet connectors. I ordered in a repair loom through work and re-did it all. New Kenwood unit installed (Android Auto, DAB, Bluetooth, Reverse Camera) The bonnet/hood gas struts have been poor since collecting the car. I couldn't find any suitable replacements locally so took a chance on a pair from AliExpress.  The originals don't use a retaining clip to secure the cup onto the ball fixture, would explain why I struggled for 10-15mins trying to pry off the cups. The ball fixtures unscrew using a 12mm spanner, new ones are the same size. Sadly no photo of them fitted, you're not missing much lol The dished Momo steering wheel got replaced with my Momo Tuner, turns out I ordered counter sunk bolts for the horn trim ring (like they normally are for the steering wheel) instead of allen cap (flat seat)  A terrible photo of a Quaife style gear shift knob I've had stashed in my tool box for many years after purchasing the incorrect thread size (I can see a pattern emerging with ordering incorrect parts...) Also threw in a cup holder and a (empty) Boss Coffee can, because why not
    • GT-R clearly the better choice! The 300 is certainly not insaly fast but has a decent amount of poke. Does a nice little drift around the corners with a decent amount of throttle. It's VERY predictable in a slide too.  Feels so progressive! People probably presume there's a 25 year old driving it based on my behaviour this week! 🤣
