reading what you guys read was so confusing. mixing auto manual 4 door 2 door all turbo non turbo.. wow each to its own.

in genral from what i found out with buying my car since I'm a p plater, is ... coupe skylines obviously (dislike four-doors)

you can get a gtt coupe manual with less than 150kms for about 11+ inc rwc prob not rego (or vise=versa)

you can get a 25gt manual with less than 150kms for about 12+ inc rwc prob not rego (visa-versa) - if you could get it for less? please tell me because i posted on this month for 3 months and stalked carsales every single day, and went to all four skylines that where advertised in that period and all i can say is one was really thrashed and not taken care of and had paint going off. the other the seller wouldn't let me take it to my mechanic, and one changed his mind and didn't give rwc with it, and the last one had a car that was crashed and he fixed it, and i could easily tell because he had a diff radiator n stuff like that (who knows to what extent the damage originally was).

yes generally STOCK non turbos are slightly dearer than turbos in price, but that's only in manual/coupe.

autos and four-doors go for shit cheap, r34 autos go for like 9grand as i remember, the seller kinda has a nice bysideblue one, but idk i saw this and didn't want an auto skyline because i'd struggle selling it as soon as i'm off my ps. same goes here.

in saying all this, nonturbos/manual/coupe is a rare combination to find up for sale, had to get one imported.

Are you trying to convince yourself or everyone else?

End of the day its still an auto GT (not having a go at the guy selling), whether it has some factory optioned bits on it doesnt take away the fact that you thought that n/a ones are worth more then turbo'd versions, it just makes no sense at all, the p plater market is very small and the p platers that are buying skylines prob arnt going to spend turbo car money on an n/a, most wait till they are of there p's and then just buy a turbo'd skyline.

Seriously stop posting rubbish and let the guy sell his car, if people want to spend the cash on it they will, but writing deluded comments about the cars worth is just annoying.

lol i just provided evidence and spoke from personal experience, if youre that fked in the head that you cant understand what im trying to say then you are an idiot. If it annoys you so much then do bother replying, leave the forum, Everyones free to give their opinions, youre an asshole for telling people what they should be doing. Im just stating the facts the way i see it, and people who do want to purchase skylines are mostly p platers, most full liscence drivers have settled down to a family car. Word of advice, have an open mind and see my point of view, i understand turbo is obviously better and it has more sportier features (sports suspension) etc, but once again non turbo cars have a higher market than turbos! I know this because ive spoken to dealerships (dandenong plunket road, melbourne) and i myself wanted a non turbo car to drive on my P's. You have a turbo car judging by your picture so you dont understand. This guy is selling his car for an average price. Its pretty clear you didnt even see the links ive posted.

Also have you seen many p plate drivers lately? They drive new sv6s, VZ/VEs, ba/bf xr6s, honda preludes vtec, etc, most of these go for 15k+. Some even drive 07 audis, mercs, bmers, i know a few people who go on loans just to get a high priced car on their Ps, so dont tell me that people who buy skylines arent going to spend their turbo car money, cause they can get the same amount for their car when its time to sell, they just buy a turbo straight after. Most p platers are immature and live in the moment. Very few p platers think ahead.

And fyi i actually was helping this guy sell his car by giving my opinion on why the price was so high in their eyes, youre the shit head who tried to contradict what im saying and have a go at me, prolonging this useless conversation, believe what you want. This guys car is worth 13k no doubt. End of story

+1 who can be stuffed waiting until they are 21 so that they can get the amount of attention a skyline gets. no way hell. yes there is a power restriction, so what, you end up selling it for the price of a turbo one + money your way, power restriction isn't a p platers fault it's the law and since we only have very few d points, we are forced to abide by it, rather than lose our licenses and catch public transport.

and this guy is selling his at a reasonable price to be honest (just because it is bayside blue) if it where another colour and not a s2, i'd say for him to drop the price by a grand or two. and if you really want to sell a car, you advertise it on carsales, that's where people buy cars, not here.

the problem is that there are a total of only 8(auto/manual) GTS skylines in the entire of Australia. Look at the GTST's, 70(auto/manual) it's a lot more competitive there hence the lower prices.

4 manuals and 4 automatics for GTS's, the only reason why they're that high of a value is because they're so rare there's not much competition going around.

It's a really slow market and sort of a niche I must say that for most people, when on their P's... are not willing to spend the money to buy an N/A. Now why'd I say that? Look at the number of cars in the market. only 8 in the entire of Australia on carsales for non-turbocharged ones. In general, people would rather save the money for a turbo down the road than spend more on an N/A one. I didn't say that people wouldn't spend money on an N/A. It's just really really tiny :( and the turnover isn't as fast as turbo'ed ones.

If both had the equivalent number of cars in the market and with all things equal, the non-turbos will be a lot cheaper than the turbos as the competition will push its current prices down by a large margin.

I don't quite agree that people looking at getting a skyline would settle for a family car by the time they get their full license. Say if you got your licence at 18, would you get a family car at 21? Hell no! I'd wanna feel the power of a modded turbocharged skyline xD. We all always end up wanting more at the end of the day until a baby comes along :s.

edit: I love bayside blues btw I think they're the best looking ones around xD.

Finally someone understands my point of view, thats exactly what im trying to say! =) Rolling up to school in a nissan skyline turns a few heads regardless of being turbo or not, partially the reason of owning one, i waited 2 years to get my liscence, i dont want to wait another 4 years till im 22 to get my full licence to cruise in a turbod skyline, i want the experience now! ;p

And yes thats great advice! Dont sell the car here, sell it on carsales, you will definetly sell that for 13k. +1 on that.

if your chasing looks for the moment (like myself :D), then skyline is the way to go. don't listen to people who tell yah that they are slow or something like that, all bull shit. it's a decent car, and idk what they expect you to drive on your p plates, and waiting 3 years+ after your red ps to get your full licence is a really big wait, you lose value for the car after that time, and it does sorta age and new options start coming up as they make new cars etc...

most people don't even know it's turbo or not when it is parked or in traffic lights unless you have a blow-off valve making alot of noise, or if they look for intercoolers n stuff like that.

and I've driven turbo skylines with 280rkws and my na, obviously the turbo ones are much funner to drive, but unless you drive it in northern suburbs in melbourne like myself, wouldn't be long until you get pulled over twice and lose your licence as you lose 3 dem points each time - pretty harsh, it's not about "having balls".
