We have several engines (both our race cars and another half a dozen, at least, built this year) that make 115-120psi cold idle

The race cars have track raced for years like this.

Has the mechanic run the car to oil operating temp (70-80deg)?

Mine did similar too, stock rb25 oil pump and tightish clearances
