Hey i have just done a AWD NEO RB25Det conversion on my R32 GTS-4.

i have 2 questions.

does anyone know the biggest rotors i can get to fit? as i dont want the pits to send me back after fitting stock size r32 gts4 rotors.

it looks as tho the gts-4 runs the gtr calipers but smaller rotors.

stock 32 gts-4 rotors - Front 290x30

Rear 292x18

stock 32gtr rotors - Front 296x32

Rear 297x18

and what have your experiences been with registering an engine upgrade and then did you need to also upgrade the brakes in size?

i know laws change from state to state but info would be helpful.

thanks.

Are you sure the stock gts4 was 290x30? I thought it was the same as the GTST type-m at 280x30, different calipers as well. I have the GTR calipers with 296x32 discs on mine atm.

Both are 4 pot sumitomo's but definately different calipers.

Upgrade is to fit R32 GT-R rotors and R32 GT-R calipers to the front. The GTS4 caliper is similar to the GT-R, except the "ears" are shorter to accommodate the smaller rotor, and they don't need to be as wide, since the GTS4 only has 30mm thick rotors and GT-R has 32mm rotors. That is why you need to do rotors AND calipers.

I did full hub conversion on mine, But the 32gtr caliper will fit gtst rotors no worries,

If you are getting an engieneer cirt, Then yes, You will need to match the brakes to the engine as if it were stock.

But like i said, Ive called the RTA or what ever you have were your from and its a realy stuff around, and will cost a coupel grand aswell, and need and emmisions test.

The few import mechanics ive spoken to, Told me to just come down and get a blue slip, ANd get a change of details form form rta to change the engine number over.

Sounds right though, Our gts4 also came in a turbo equivelent, You should be more then fine.

Ive put a rb26 in mine, But ive been told this is also fine as you can argue the cars usues the GTR drive train, Have used GTR brakes ect ect.

see how we go anyways :/

R33 and R32 gtst brakes are quite different. R32 is 280x30. R33 is 296x30. I wouldn't be suggesting to anyone to use r32gtst rotors with r32 gtr calipers..

Personal preference given my experience on my car, I'd go r33/r34 brembos. 324mm discs.

I don't think anyone above recommended 32GTR calipers on 32GTSt rotors.

The fact is, the minimum legal brake swap to put an RB25 into an R32 is the R33 brakes. Next small step up is GTR. Then step up to R32/33 Brembos. I would suspect that the R34 Brembos have the same bolt size issue that the normal R34 brakes have (ie, they're bigger diameter caliper bolts than the earlier cars) which makes fitting them harder (have to drill out the mounting points on the hubs). So I'd not go to R34 brakes before looking at other alternatives.
