But you can only have one or the other, the emanage communication or the sensor adapter I am fairly sure.

Just remember the Greddy sensors aren't cheap but they are accurate. I guess it's similar to buying a Defi set, just more compact.

So can the Informeter display boost via connecting to the Emanage?

if it can I'll get the Informeter...

I guess so, do you have the map sensor on the emu? I haven't used the communication cable for the informeter as it was connected to the Vmanage, perhaps that is why, not the external sensor harness.

Yeah I've got the MAP sensor running to the EMU...don't tell me because I'm using the MAP sensor I can't connect the informeter to the EMU...garrrrh...

Hang on - the Greddy boost sensor for the Informeter looks identical to the MAP sensor I'm using for EMU...

yay?

Duuuurrrr thaz cuz itz tha saim sensa

Lol we've had this conversation before Jethro hahaha

ironpaw.... the picture in the first link shows the ignition barrel on the left - when it should be on the right.... so im assuming the picture is upside down, making the gauges mount from underneath?

Have another look at the steering wheel surround on your car, the ignition barrel location is part of the instrument cluster surround. The only cut-outs on the column cover are for headlight and wiper stalks.

Which gauge did you get?

Don't tell me those fake Defi ones on ebay/forums for $60? hehe

Not a fake Defi, no.

It's called an Evo something or other... It's digital with a line of bars that go along the surround instead of a needle and digital numbers in the centre which make it pretty easy to read with a split second glance.

A bit flashy, but the price was right & I thought if give it a go.

hmm, looking at this pic:

It seems like its just the top part of the steering wheel surround?

Take a look at the 2nd pic below...see what I mean? Its just a replace panel really. Doesn't involve the dash or igni barrel at all.

Only issue is that its black...hmmm

haha...well if I can score a whole dash in black then I'll go black...

I don't want a beige dash with a single black panel...

or you can just paint it in a colour as close as possible to it.

Sounds like a proposition?

you want in dont you

That is the point I was trying to get across, solution could be as Aaron said paint it as close as you can or replace all trim around the binnacle to black to match.

Personally I would be looking at the painting solution as I don't think you want to replace the wheel as well.

I had found that gauge holder a while ago but at that time had no reason for the extra gauges, hence I did not purchase.

Ha, Greddy got back to me regarding getting the MAP reading/Values from the emanage:

"If you have electrical craftsmanship it can be done but for our liability purpose, you will need to run independent sensors to each unit."

Hmmmmm is it as simple as splicing the informeter harness into the existing MAP sensor? interesting..

Edited by ironpaw

No, the input resistance of the unit will affect the value seen making it inaccurate. Just buy the new sensor if you want an accurate gauge.

They are probably talking about making a circuit to feed a mirror signal.
