Pattey21
Hey guys my fourth gear synchro was worn. So i switched from motul ff lsd type 2 to redline shock proof. It stopped 4th gear crunching but now 2nd and 3rd are notchy and can crunch. When i drained the motul only 2.9l came out and when i filled it with shock proof i could fit 3.7l approx. Id rather just have one shit gear and The motul was only 5000ks old and ive kept it and am wondering whether to get another litre and throw it back in. I will eventually get a rebuild but it is giving me the shits atm. Besides a worn box could it be anything else eg clutch alignment, overfull/underfilled gearbox, shifter seems okay, rubber boot on end of shifter is fine etc. All advice much appreciated. GTSBoy
Give the shockproof some time in the box before you get all upset about it. And moderate your driving style (seriously) so that you minimise 2nd and 3rd issues while you give that time. I bought an R33 box to put into my R32. Was supposed to be in good nick, but when first started up, we could not select any gears at all. Dropped the normal (new) gear oil for shockproof, and instantly able to select all gears. Wasn't wonderful, and still isn't perfect, but it is getting better with time. SiR_RB
did you put in "lightweight" shockproof or "heavy weight" shockproof?
