Story of the car.

This car has a good motor I am not sure what the previous owner did to it but has made some surprising power for the setup it has, even the owner of RE Customs came over and had a gander to see what turbo I had when it was on the dyno.

After Fitting the GCG Hi Flow (second hand) , Front Mount 044 and an Emanage Blue the car made 268 rwkws on 15-16 psi I suspect the Hi Flow might have a z32 rear housing as it comes on a little later than another GCG Hi Flow fed RB25DET i drove and going by the power it made maybe this is true the E-Manage was no good for the application as it is a glorified sensor bender.

and we were not able to control fuel spark purely as the factory ECU jumped in randomly.

After this I drove the car rarely as I lost my license (stitched up i recon) and then injured by back and was off work for 2 years, after I got back to work I bought a Haltech E6X.

the first Haltech had an issue and I had it replaced for a brand new one!

Issue 1 not a big issue for someone that doesnt have a bad back and auto elec knowledge.

While being tuned the following issue arose and I ran out of money to pay him so I had to take the car home untuned, It needs someone who knows about skylines and electrics, I have a feeling its something to do with the tach input as it gets to 4500rpm and bounces like a limiter, I did notice that even though the tune was not done driving it off boost it felt more free and pulled better.

Once Tuned the car will make a nice drivable 260-280 RWKW ad injectors and I would expect dipping in the the 300RWKW. I might add the Injectors are unknown but I feel going by the power it made they might be SR20 ones , the previous owner had the car serviced and tweaked by nismo melbourne.

The second was complete stupidity by me , in a hurry backing out of the garage I didnt realise the door was still open as the car is loud, it hit into the wall and flattened the edge and flaked the paint off.

I have had quote of 1000 to fix but I picked up another strait door with the same color, so it just needs a blend of paint. the door is not fitted.

I still have the old HICAS rack and the original suspension + bars

the pics of the car were before I fitted the Front Mount Intercooler and the Coil Overs, Currently the car has been sitting for 6 months and is very dusty, however there is no reason with a good clean and a polish it couldn't look nice again.

$8,900 As it is with all spare parts mentioned. Reasonable offers considered

Helo

I ended up fixing misfire, one of the pwm digital outputs had

Been enabled. the rpm value for anti lag was set at 4000 rpm which was here the misfire occurred

I disabled the anti lag tested it on the road and it reved past 4k rpm to 6k just fine

How so many hours were spent trying to solve that cost me about 500 dollars at. Mechanic in Melbourne

After I went and bought a net book and USB to serial connector and went through all the settings

In the software and had it fixed in minutes, I was a bit pissed off because I got told to send the computer to haltecb to ecu checked

Tat was a other 129 dollars and it was a menu setting l

Makes you wonder just ow much time these guys actually spent, when I had it sorted a simple menu error in under 30 minx,

Does anyone know a dynos tuner that is familiar with skylines and haltech. I need to get it sorted properly Even dual maps so I can. Different fiuel or boost levels

    • Thanks for that.... If only I could do something once and be happy with that, like some people do....
    • I had no transmission at all so I managed to find a big box manual gearbox from an R34 GTT for an insanely good price in EU. I converted it to push type which cost more than the transmission almost, with parts from Amayama! These engines are very strong and can put out decent power with a properly sized turbo. You can save on money from parts like pistons and rods, and invest those in the transmission and other parts. I suggest you join the RB20 Enthusiasts facebook group, plenty of info and almost daily posts there about 20DE/DET/Neo+T builds. (I hope I'm not breaking any forum rules by mentioning third party platforms, just trying to help the buddy out)
    • Yeah, having tried all of those methods including BBQ+recipro/hacksaw, I ended up buying a bush press kit under $150 that works well, like this: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/355967727167?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=705-154756-20017-0&ssspo=sfmmuhxgqhm&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=dJvnaZ11TB-&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY It basically has a range of pushers and cups with threaded rods between to press out a range of large bushes. The problem with any sawing solution is minimising damage to the subframe side, although it probably needs a quick sand afterwards no matter what solution you try due to damage
    • Hi. Thanks for the answer. I do not have instagram 😄 I too considering turbo the RB20DE NEO 🙂 But i think i upgrade the gearbox first or at least buy new.
