Gday,

Just after some info on the ignition timing map for an rb25det running on 98RON, If anyone has a picture of a load timing map & normal timing map that would be good.

Im having engine issues above 5500rpm & are curious what it should be up there.

Running microtech LT12S.

Josh.

Hey Josh,

Wht engine issue's are u having? Is it missfiring? If it is try gapping the spark plugs down to .8mm, if it still happens it may need upgraded coilpacks.

Its got a hypergear 2530 copy turbo (Yes its small, Its what i had on the rb20 & its ok for now).

Its standard engine at the moment, just running FMIC, 3" turbo back exhaust, Microtech lt12s.

Problem is when it hits 5500rpm & upward it sounds like there are small rocks bouncing around in the cylinders. Thats what leads me to believe there is too much timing in it.

Its not leaning out but im not confident the timing is correct. I have just adjusted the maps from the rb20 engine to this engine. I have cut out only a couple of degrees timing over the upper end of the rev range.

If that turbo was specified for a Rb20det for responsive power then it will be too small for the Rb25det, you will need to reduce timing up top. Or run a larger turbine housing with the existing core.
