Would someone be kindly enough to post pics up of their AVCR location? Especially if it was installed under a single DIN! I am getting a custom plastic made for it.

Even if it wasn't under the single DIN, please include any mounting position pics of the boost controller. I've searched hours trying to get ideas!

Who has the most professional installation of the thing, I wonder.

Much appreciate it and many thx for your time!

yer dude go there, i have my pics up already just dont want to upload again..

i had my avc-r on the dash before that. looked good but every 1 wanted to race ;)

yes, they look awsome, thanks for the input!

There is no restrictions in other states i think but NSW! (above the dash principle)

I am not sure on that so don't quote me!

This isn't the Boost controller, but i think the RSM is the same size?? even though there are no restricitions in WA about dash mounting, i didn't like the idea of having it stuck in the middle of my dash... all i've done here is remove the dashlight dimmer (which looked aftermarket anyway) and make a plate to fit in the holes left by pulling out those little plates. Cables all fit neatly into the dash and everything !

yer looks alright wld808 mine would be there to cos im thinking of bastards poping my window. but i hate that empty gap i have so i stuck in there.. i hide my turbo timer there tho, i guess urs is more like a "sleeper". (you got ur avcr working normally now?)

when i bought the car the avcr and afc were high up on the dash, was piss easy to move it i just had to cut a small hole in the top of the glovebox for the wires which you cant see. they both work just fine and i now also have the turbo timer with them. they werent even wired up when i bought it i had to do it all. i dont care much about the apexi stuff the only reason i didnt take them out is because it would take a long time to do and i cant use them on my next car. like i said before it would piss me off much more if someone damaged the door or window to steal them.

My friend also did exactly the same as pstanbis, but unfortunately it's not possible in an R33 as all the sensors for the climate control are there in an R33. He also at one stage took out his gauge sluster and mounted it in there with a piece of blanking sheet. That looked much better but I don't think it was all that legal.

thx pstanbis, if it not too much of a hassel.

Pandaemonaeon: yeah, as most of the people are scared of the pricks breaking windows, I am too. So I don't want it any where too obvious. So under the Din is alright. the Sunshade sounds good too. But I wonder how it's all done. And I want it to be undefectable! at least one off the list! LOL

You could do what I have done with my FBC hand controller and use a Flipdown DIN pocket under the H/U. An AVCR is a bit bigger so you would have to cut pieces out of it, but I'm sure it would still work. The flip down pockets should be available from any wrecker as they were in the R32.

    • They see me rollin' they hatin'....... Took me most of the day to make the necessary mods to the mounts to make them fit the car.  Fortunately I was able to just use the mounts that came with the rotisserie. The rear ones are really secure, the front I feel i might reinforce a bit more as it doesn't seem like enough attachment to the vehicle. I'm sure it's fine but better to be safe than (extremely...) sorry.  I drilled and tapped thread into additional M12 holes to each car mount where it attaches to the rotisserie as an extra fail-safe. Without them the side to side movement is just restricted by the allen head pinch bolts, nothing actually goes though the beam. Does now! I still need to adjust the rotisserie to get the car centred in terms of centre of gravity. If it's too high or too low relative to the rotational centre line of the car, it will be like a turtle and roll onto its back or as it currently sits, I dont think I'd be able to rotate it as it sits as it needs to lift the whole car up as it rotates. Ain't happening... I'm going to be nervous as hell the first time I go to spin it on its side...
    • Oh yes done this when the window started flopping around.  Turns out the guides that run along the rail chanel had crumbed way. Took off the door card and pulled out the window mech, then the window, which you have to pull out through the top. As said unbolt the guide rail and don't spend 30 minutes getting frustrated trying to find a way to slide it out upwards cause that don't frigging work. Drop it down and out through the door hole. All I did to repair it was slice some 10mm clear plastic tube, vertically, then screw it to the guide rail both sides. This tubing rolls inward on both sides and leaves a gap wide enough to hold the window. To finish all I did was lube the plastic tube with olive oil and Bob's your uncle . . . well if he has the operation he can be your Aunt ! !  10 bucks in plastic tube and another 5 minute job done again . . . . YEH BULLSH#T ! My love for Skylines knows no bounds !
    • So was there a solution to this problem? I’m having this issue now.
    • not expensive, just irreplaceable if you don't go sub 60 at wakie in that thing people will start talking
    • I haven't replaced that, but I have had the doors apart on the r32 a couple of times The door skin will be held on by a combination of clips and bolts, just take it slowly and make sure all the sneaky hidden bolts are out Once the skin is off you should be able to pop that piece off pretty easily, looks like there are only 2 bolts holding it on
