Looking To Debadge/ghosting

I am looking to debadge the skyline letters from my car, I've heard horror stories of ghosting of text after removal. Going to use normal method of hair dryer and floss. Anyone had ghosting or ripping off paint problems before kinda nervous now to remove the letters

WD40 with a clean cloth and buff any ghosting out that's left behind, shouldnt be much. I debadged my 350GT symbol just the other day with heatgun/floss and it came off with next to no ghosting at all.

Mine's debadged and yes under certain angles you can just slightly see the Skyline and the Nissan Logo.

Anyone know how to get rid of that?

respray, or park it in the sun for a long time.

Not much you can do, the paint under the badges hasn't been exposed to the sun/elements, so it isn't as damaged/faded.

You can try a light cut/polish/wax, but chances are you will still see it a bit.

Still don't know if I should take a plunge, not looking to respray right now. My car is 06 so might stand a better chance of less ghosting?

You should be fine, mines '03 and i had no ghosting whatsoever.

Although i did get my boot & front bumper fully resprayed last week for free so i'm happy

just be careful with the hairdrier... it can make your paint bubble if heated too much

How much was the boot respray? I'm thinking of doing mine to get rid of the ghost.

Just debadged no ghosting what so ever! before my car is a half car hybrid between infiniti and skyline lolz

now went for the clean look just the mt. fuji removed the Skyline and 350GT logo.

I'm quite fortunate that mine was already debadged with love when I imported it.

LOL i debadged mine with love also. How was your debadged? Remove skyline emblem also?

No idea how it was done. I just know that the boot lid is absolutely clean, blemish and pin-dent free. No sign of a respray (nor should there be as it was a grade 5A). Not a single badge or sticker anywhere on the rear.

How much was the boot respray? I'm thinking of doing mine to get rid of the ghost.

I got it all done for free, would have been $395 for the lot though.

Looks like it was shot at the Carlovers in Burwood. And I see you've got a more accommodating bumper bar compared to mine, as I had to trim my rear plate to fit it in the bar's cavity.
