Rebuilt engine and installed last week to find oil leaking between rear main plate-sump. Removing plate showed a small low spot of goo(ultra blue) there so I removed engine cleaned everything up and resealed again with ultra blue then put engine back in. Went into garage today to find oil on ground again. Is leaking from at least 2 places and I haven't even started the fkn thing yet.

So I want to confirm that the holes are the highest point and will touch the block first or the holes are meant to be level with the edge of the pan? Not sure if the holes have been previously bent from over tightening but they are the highest point on mine. Will remove start of next week and try again

Cheers

Like a transmission pan Trev, put the edge of the pan on the side of a bench and tap the holes down so they are below flush of flange. Then glue. And when you tighten the bolts, the holes will raise a bit

I'm sure you did, but wax & grease remover the bejesus out of both surfaces before starting.

I normally pull the pan up against the block lightly so that both surfaces have made contact with the sealant but aren't fully clamped together, then let it sit for 30 min to allow the sealant to partially set.

Go back and torque up all the bolts; you should be perfect.
