Hey folks. I'm looking at getting a new front bar for my R34 GTT but just not sure what to get. My current bar I love the look of but it scrapes everywhere as it seems to be longer in the nose than other bars ive seen and i plan to lower it in 2 weeks so i'm thinking it wont be long before i smash it off... Here's how it sits now

Anyway, just wondering what standard bars there are that look good, can anyone post up pics of standard factory bars?

Also, i'm considering this front bar, which i think is a Nismo copy, http://cgi.ebay.com....#ht_1834wt_1165

It says it sits 25mm lower than a factory bar though so after i lower it say 2 inches the front bars gonna be sitting 3 inches lower than the factory bar at factory height... So yeah it's gonna scrape heaps too isn't it? Maybe i'm shit at driving or i'm a Pussy haha... How does everyone get away with having their cars "stupid low" and not scrape or are most of the fully sick 34's you see in pics set up only for either looks or for track driving?

That front bar you linked from eBay is the factory Altia kit (Nismo kit to others). I've got that kit and I personally think, all R34's should have that kit. The Nismo bar looks great tbh, I was going to get a body kit for my 34 but have grown to love the Nismo kit.

See my sig. I scrape it from time to time, but only at my gf's place since her roads are stupidly uneven. Cars that are "stupidly low" avoids scrapes by going up on an angle, depending on the height, which I'm very sure you would know. Or they live in an area with very smooth roads.

Yeah I do my best to take certain "obstacles" at the proper angle but there are a few places around town that are pretty much impossible already know to take certain routes to avoid them. My own driveway gives me the shits though.

How much lower than standard are you?

Genuine Nissan ones are relatively hard to find new. You'd be able to pick one up new from japan somewhere, but it would be stupidly priced. You could probably pick one up on ebay every now and then, for sale section here or wreckers. I'm in the process of replacing my one (only cause I'm an ass of a perfectionist) with one made with carbon fibre, currently talking to one supplier at the moment. If you're interested, I can help you once I test fit my one. Genuine, your looking at around $800+, even for seconds. You can imagine the cost of a new one.

My series 2 bar hits and my car is legal height plus the roads suck , go slow and at angle ad dont pull to far into parking blocks

My new custom bomex /top secret / my mods body kit is now rebuilt with carbon and kevlar weave to make it scrape proof and not shatter on impact , weight is similar to all carbon

just needs painted and fitted

Haha yup its a tough life, this skyline ownership lol... Mines a little worse coz the concrete sits up an inch where it meets the asphalt but yeah i sure people have far worse to deal with hey.

The first car has a longer overhang which is rhe issue

Mine is nearly flat on stock s2 34 and will grind off on just about everything if approached straight on

on angle my car heavy bracing turns the car into a teater totter pulling opposite wheels off the ground it makes people look lol

so stiff in the chassis you can floor jack 1 spot and it picks up 3 wheels at once lol

like a go kart handling flat and rides better Not so loose feeling

    • yeah I've never understood that either.... And to answer an earlier question, I write the date on open bottles and throw them if more than 12 months old (which they almost always are, because I don't need to bleed them unless I'm changing lines/calipers etc in between)
    • Nah, the one that hit the boot was a big steel locker, around 6 foot height, 4 foot wide and 2 foot deep, empty it weighs about 15kg and had about that amount of stuff in it The photo didn't give a good representation of the actual damage, the large ding on the passenger side was about a inch deep, the one on the driver was about 1/2 inch deep, right on the curve, where the inner boot frame doesn't let you get behind it with a dolly Basically the same issue with getting behind the damage on the centre of the boot We could have filled it all with bog, but my OCD would be triggered every time I looked at it, knowing what hides beneath  As for the locker, I did get the shits with it and put it in the scap metal bin, but, I pulled it out and it is now sitting in the garage at home full of car servicing stuff, cleaning gear and random tools, it's going to pay for it's indiscretions
    • Whilst I typically don't cheap out on things, if I can save some money, like $1000, on a clean straight panel, that gives me $1000 to spend on other stuff, basically free money really 🤔 🤣
    • Is the toolbox that damaged the boot seal the same item that fell on the car during the storm a while back?
    • Who are you to deny yourself? I’ve said this many times to myself and apart from getting what I really want, I go quiet for a while whilst working out what I just did to my savings and how will I afford what it cost, then, next payday…
