Well its been a while since I posted as have been busy with life in general. As some might remember I posted last year in regards to my Cefiro import which was making around 306rwhp from its RB20DET engine. Well that engine had chosen to expire after 2 injectors failed. Week later replacement engine was in but only cranked over 297rwhp, so i decided to break it in an attempt to get 300+ again(at $500 an engine not such an issue). Well it broke.

Had a sit down and thought, what do I want from this car, lots of power and more response?(RB20's are horribly laggy). So I went for the plunge and installed an RB26DETT from an R33 GT-R. This required some custom work in regards to the sump(now running an 8L sump as oposed to standard 4L).

While more costly in the long run I have alot more power potential. On friday it went onto the rollers to finally get tuned(was off the road since January) and it layed down a rather nice 417.3rwhp @ 1bar boost(14.2psi) with over 1600ft-lbs of torque at 1 stage(will scan dyno sheet sooner or later). The setup isnt to laggy either with peak boost forming at around 4,500rpm and a nice broad spread of power from 5000rpm to around 7750rpm.

This tune is a safe setup due to the stock internals and with more timing I believe even at 1 bar there is still more potential in it.

List of mods to engine are:

RB26DETT from R33 GT-R

Nismo cams(256 or 264 we are unsure but give a very nice idle)

HKS adjustable cam gears

Nismo fuel pressure regulator

Larger Hybrid Intercooler

Custom turbos(equivilant to hi flo 2540's, these have run over 2bar before and still made power on previous owners car)

HKS Dump pipes

twin 3" exhaust

Wolf3d V4 ecu tuned for MAP table

600cc nismo injectors

Custom Fuel Sump

There are other mods such as Twin plate OS clutch and VLT Box aswell as custom tailshaft.

Overall i'm very happy with the results and once my Forged rods(Pauter) and some forged pistons(ares more likely still undecided) go in i plan to fit another fuel pump(depending if I went 044 or 040 1st time round cant remember) and wind up the boost :)

HUGE thanks has to go to Fabs of Extreme Autosport for putting up with not only doing the work on my car but my constant questions, phone calls and changing of mind. Also to Anthony(ND4SPD) and Steve(SST_Steve) with the tuning and other information I have required when Fabs was busy.

Some pictures can be found at http://summoner.perthstreetcars.net/Cefiro/ most of them are older pics of the car but there are some work in progress happy snaps.
