Hi all, just wondering who in Melbourne can paint a bumper for me in Bayside Blue and actually have it look factory painted? I've heard this is a VERY difficult colour to replicate because of the various coats and pearl effects run through it, and there aren't many people around who can get it right. Can anyone point me n the direction of someone who can in Melbourne, someone with a good reputation/business?

how much are you prepared to pay? I would think Mi-Colour has had some experience with TV2, and DT probably has sprayed something in TV2

Don't forget, the colour itself is very popular for non-GTR's as well... so you might find other workshops who have worked with the colour.

What are you thinking of spending? that will be a big determinate of where you go...

Mick / Micolour painted and fitted some Nismo skirts / pods to a 34R in bayside blue a few weeks back - looked like a great match to me. I know he has done a few 34R's in bayside blue in the past so would have good experience with it.

He has also painted the front half of my 34R and a complete bare shell, rotisserie restoration on my 32R which makes me wet myself every time I look at it - see my build thread in the projects section.

Ok, I take that back. I DO mind the cost but having said that I wouldn't pay for something just because it's cheap if it was tacky. I've mad a few calls around to reputable workshops and had quotes over the phone for a front bar and sideskirts ranging from $850- $3000 :/. So really what my question is, is who can do bayside blue and a pretty good job without emptying my bank?

Here is the car Paul is refering to, i had the skirts, rear pods and front lip all painted and fitted by Mic at Micolor, the color match is very close... its just going to be one of those you get what you pay for things.

Looks pretty awesome, can I ask how much micolour cost you for that work?

im not in melboune, but i have painted this color many times, on nissans, and ive even painted an FC RX7 in this color.

best of luck with the repair, hope it goes well!

Curiously, is it that hard to paint this color, like the op said?
