Hey guys, you might recall my previous post "Just got my new skyline".

Anyways, the car has been nothing other than great, i've been loving the fresh paint work and how it runs!

Yesterday some weak jealous f*&k head keyed my car (drivers side) for no reason - right down to the bare metal.

Has anybody had their car keyed? How much did it cost to get it fixed? And what was the result like?

Thanks for the comments.

And i hope the tossers get theirs back in a big way.

I had a kid on a bike ride into the side of mine when i was parked at a mates, did two 5 inch scratches, one at the rear and the other over the door and front right panel (Bounced twice into it).

Got a quote - for getting the whole side of the car resprayed

$800-900

I hate kids

I got the front of my bonnet key with the F word on it, I got my frontbar repainted and bonnnet done just under $400 , did it through a company called wizard smash repair, he done it cheap i think becuase im a forum member on boost cruising.

He done a great job with paint matching. I'll be going 2 see him soon again, after i mange to but a nice scratch in my frontbar.. :-(

What i found is that most quotes for my frontbar and bonnet were about $600 to $700.

I've had my car just over a year, and I have had 1 tyre slashed, my car spat on twice whilst i was driving. F-word keyed into my bonnet. Screws put under tyres about 4 times, I've gone through a hole set of tyres due to screws and being slashed.

So i now try and park my car in sight @ all times.

I live in wynnum and I seem to be picked on alot, but i think alot of other cars get it done 2. Just jelauos bored kids with nothing better 2 do than be destructive.

whoa dude.

stick a camera up or something, thats rediculous

Madtrang, that's crazy dood - i feel your pain. Something has to be done, ass whoopings need to be handed out! Im going to get a new car alarm with microwave sensors and see how that goes, i know it will give allot of false alarms, but i can happily put up with that rather than have the car ****ed up again.

That sounds very personal dude, who's toes have you stepped on?

Yeah its shit like this that makes me feel better about going an r32 gtr.. more understated. I feel sorry for all you guys.

Man if I caught somebody doing that to my car, It would almost be worth it-because of what I would do to him.

someone keyed my last car .. before the act, it was a beautiful black car, which I cared for a lot and loved. afterwards, it felt tainted and I was so upset I couldn't even stand to look at it.

i hate the people who debadge and key people's cars. it is cheap, vile, and the lowest of all destructive acts towards cars, because it means absolutly nothing. whether it's because of jealousy or whatever else, I hate these people, and I don't use the word 'hate' lightly.

    • Thanks Dose.....    I appreciate it!!
    • I'll probably be putting the shit box back on the dyno again soon, I want to dial in the closed loop boost control properly. I'll have a camera facing the car/motor for fun too. Just note, there are essentially 3x 10AN inlets going into the catch can and 1x going back to the intake pipe. Most of the time the catch can "return" to the sump actually is the crank case breather, pushing air out.
    • I have the R3C with a Nismo slave and by no means does it behave like a stocker, it ain’t THAT bad. On take off just give a bit more throttle than you would say a coppermix and it’s fine. It will not slip though.
    • Okay. Final round of testing done. Got a friend to hook up a fancy scanner to the car and we also ran some compression and leakdown tests, she is healthy.  The MAF was definitely the culprit. So for future reference anyone with similar issues that find this thread. I suggest the following steps, in order of affordability:   Check your spark plugs for any fouling, replace plugs if they are bad or re adjust the gaps making it narrower (0.8mm would be good). Check every coil's resistance with a multimeter. It can be done by probing the IB and G pins on the coil pack. Resistance should be around 1.4 (+/- 0.1) Ohms Check the MAF. If you have Nissan connect or a good scanner with the 14 adapter it should allow you to see the voltage on the MAF reading should be around 1.1 - 1.2V when car is idling. But if you don't, buy a new MAF from Amazon and test, then return it. (For instance, I got a Chinese one for $40 that was reporting 1.3v on idle). If you still have scanner, you can run tests on the injectors to see if they are working, just remember to unplug the fuel pump fuse/relay and have no pressure on the line. Then listen for the noises that the injectors make. Clean/replace injectors as needed. Once you find the issue and fix, order thousands of dollars worth of OEM parts to refresh unrelated things (Optional)   PS: Thanks to the absolute legends of this forum for the responses and help to someone that went a bit over their head. • Ha ha ha, so they stopped the bearings spinning on the one you want, but then decided the crank hub should slip instead 😛   Stick to RB, at least you can work on it yourself. And now it doesn't smell of vapour   Also I still believe there's a chance your new flap doesn't "pop", as even though the engine might breath hard, it has a direct path with no restriction to the inlet, which when on boost should pull a bit of suction for you. If you do get pressure in the catch can id be very intrigued. Time to put a boost gauge on it, and a session at the track, then solid cover your vent and do another session
