Repair Times

So on the 5th of July a mature lady driver decided to use my passenger door to slow her oddyssey down at a round about, 7000 bucks (not from my pocket) and 46 days later I'm finally about to get my car back

So just wondering what anyone else in a similiar situations experience has been like, is that a typical wait time from the difficulty in getting parts for our cars? Can I expect my car to be the same when I get it back after such a hard hit?

It's a series 2 c34 too btw

Ihave had to wait three weeks to get the 25G into the panel beater and he cant start for until I get some more bits. There is $4K of damage on a car I paid $6K for, 3 years ago. It is unique though.

The repair time isn't too bad, if you ask me.

Most good panel shops have a decent wait just to get in, let alone amassing parts.

A few years ago, my missus had a big side impact in her 323 that took out both drivers side doors, B pillar, sill panel and rear quarter. The D/S rear strut and arms were bent and wheel destroyed.

Value of repairs on a $16,000 car; $12,000.

I was sceptical as to whether it would be any good once repaired, but my panel guy assured me it would be as good; or better.

As the panel shop removed the bent pillar, rear guard and sill; the car sprung back to square.

He invited my missus to see it stripped to its socks & undies, and she freaked. He showed us the measurements for the alignment jig, and then measured the car in front of us.

It was basically perfect.

He then pulled the brand new sill and pillar out of their wrappings, and sat them in place; fitted perfectly.

It took almost 16 weeks to repair, but we still own it now; over 80,000km later, and it's as good as it ever was. No problems aligning it, no weird tyre wear, no paint issues.

Done properly, your Stag will be fine.

So I called up today to make sure I was ready to go, receptionist puts me on hold a while, I'm then causally told they are still waiting for a sill panel and haven't even started yet, even though I rang about a week earlier and was told everything was on schedule u will be called if the situation changes, what a joke, the reasoning was supposedly that they couldn't source a new one and removing a second hand one is alot of work, I suppose that's fair enough I wouldn't want them to strain themselves

I drove a 323 on my p's that got written off when a semi changed lanes into it in the airport tunnel, I'm amazed they didn't write it off for so much damage, Mazda makes a nice car though, my parents 3 cars are all mazdas
