I would have loved a coach when I first started.

Even if just to show me how to do the lifts correctly. For a long time I couldn't squat with an olympic bar because of the pain my lower back received Even now with dead lifts there is a slight bow when i bottom out.

I am going to see Trent at PTC Sydney for this coaching to help get it right.

Also find with a good coach (speaking from other sporting activities) I stay motivated for longer and try harder. Wayne Bennett says he doesnt teach his professional players anything new, he just manages them personally.

food for thought.

Sorry I havent been on for so long, very busy, went to Canberra for the States up there, anyway

Rack pulls. We dont do them as they teach bad habits (hitching). We place the plates on blocks so it mimics the way a bar leaves the floor. We have numerous heights.

Half our lifters pull more off a block, the other half less. Not having momentum at a sticking point makes it much harder. Max has pulled 310kg when he was 75kg, he doesnt get much out of them. Zoran pulls 292.5kg off the floor and 270kg off blocks, clearly he needs the "run up" off the floor.

The best exercise for sticking points I feel is pause deads at your sticking point, stop for a count of 2, then finish the rep.

We love deficit reads, not sure it helps off the floor though as you can use more leg drive on a deficit that isnt there off the floor, but its a great exercise regardless. Do them

5x5 and those clowns claiming it and followers who have no idea why it exists

Bill Starr came up with 5 x 5 when he was asked to write a program for high schools in America to use. Initially he wanted squat/dead/incline but most schools didnt have an incline so he switched to bench press. The 5 x 5 is funny. He said the PE teachers using it were not very smart, and would struggle with a different rep/set scheme, he knew that anyone could remember 5 x 5 lol, so all you guys following it thinking your on something special, think again.

The fact is there is no "best" program, but youre doing one cause its easy to remember and some clown put his name to a program Bill wrote out for dumb PE teachers.

The effort is the key.

To those that claim paused benches are only a benefit for comp lifters, lose the ego, no different to full squats and not hitching your deeds, do the movement properly, your joints will thank you for it when you move to "man" weights

Coaches are important for those that have aspirations, a regular guy at a commercial gym does not need one, he doesnt care that mums can rep his squat PB, nor should he, its clearly not why he lifts, its a social outing, so he can tell his mates he lifts etc.

I hope I havent missed anything. Like I said I was in the ACT over the weekend, awesome comp, some great lifting

I'll post some vids

Big mistake, got injured, ruined his comp. Nathan was planning on 415kg squat, 225kg bench and 330kg dead, a 970kg total to break the All Time 110kg equipped record of 965kg

At the top of the squat he hurt his clavicle and rib, didnt take another attempt, took 2 token benches etc, ended up with 910kg

Jack Hobson benched 180kg at 19yo.....very strong kid

I just realised I have no vids from the Vics up

    • All I can say Duncan is good luck and I hope that Neil did not run any E85 in Cheryl. I have recently experienced the full spectrum of fuel tank issues in my R33's that had been caused by E85 and contaminated fuel. When you take the cover off the top of the tank and have a look inside you will get an understanding of how easy it will be. Best case situation is clean fuel with minimal contamination. My GTR was like this and it was a very simple operation to just grab the fuel pump carrier bracket and slide it up and out of the tank. My three GTS_T's had different levels of fuel contamination that was probably caused by E85 in the fuel.  In the worst case all of the metal components in the tank had rusted to the point where there were pieces of rusted metal swirling around in the tank. This required the removal of the exhaust, the tailshaft, the complete rear cradle and the fuel tank. The components in the tank were that rusted that it took days to get the fuel pump carrier and the mounting brackets out of the tank. When the tank was finally cleaned, everything inside the tank had to be replaced. With the tank all back together I could then reinstall it in the car along with everything else that had to come out. Good luck and I hope that you find a clean tank.
    • It is a two door. It is black and also still has the OEM wheels and stereo. Exact model would be KR_R32RGFEL_SS According to GTR-Registry.com is a 2 Door Coupe; RB20DE; 2WD no HICAS; MT.F5; (11L) Projector Headlamps and Fog Lights; (12_) Electronic Active Full Auto Air Con (Climate Control); (13-14SS) V Selection -- Which seems to be accurate description of my variant. Will try to upload a few pictures soon. The OEM wheels look like the below image. Image is taken from the goo-net-exchange website.

    • Welcome Gabriel. At least your car has a glorious RB and not the shitty CA18. As MBS206 mentioned all the good bits can be added later. Two doors or four?
    • And half of them have been converted to turbos.
