This "old" fella is no mechanic, I have checked the trans fluid level & any leaks...all is good....&

I always warm my 1999/2000 RS4 before driving.

BUT when the temp gauge is less than "half way" she is a bitch to drive in 1st gear.....sooooooo slow

to take off....drags it's arse like you wouldn't believe BUT once it's warm it fly's in all gears ! Is it a winter

issue cause in summer, there is no issue ??

"a confused old fella"

My Cressida had the eact same issue when I first got it.

I got a trans guy to throw a new filter and fluid in there but it didnt help and he had no idea as it was warm (and fine) once he got it.

My uneducated diagnosis was that it was either a clogged/shagged trans pump or rooted first gear solenoid valve or both.

I assumed that it was dependent on temp and fluid viscosity, it didnt matter how full it was...

Being a Cressida, they all blow head gaskets, there was enough being wrecked or parted out for me to take a punt and get another trans for $50 and throw it in on my garage floor....

I didnt bother pulling it apart as it wasnt worth repairing.

That might not be as easy in this case, i hope its something easy like low fluid ;)
