Driving Sports Club Day Of Grip 12/9/2012 E C South Circuit

Day of Grip (South Circuit)

WED 12th September 12

Entry fee, $220 full members ,$260 part members + CAMS $95 if you don’t already have one

Entries capped at, 54 for the South circuit

18 Advanced Group A

18 Intermediate Group B

18 Beginner Group C

20 min sessions rotate all day from 9am to 5pm, A group will be out first at 9 am

Maximum number of Drivers per entrant is 2.

Opening date for bookings – open now

When you are booking please be sure to email and nominate a group

please note you may be moved up or down a group pending entries

please do not wait till the last minute pre paid entries will only be accepted up to Friday 7th Sept

      I remember a Wheels mag article from, I dunno when....late 80s, early 90s, or something, about a BMW engine which was claimed to be able to produce cleaner tailpipe emissions than the air it was typically breathing in on Autobahns, city streets, etc etc, in a lot of the really filthy (at the time) Euro and US cities.. All courtesy of the engine management and the plentitude of cats they had on it, of course. Classic marketing spin, naturally, because you sure as shit can't breathe what's coming out the back. But whatever.

      The interesting part of tests like IM240 is they measure the exhaust output. But they never measure the gases going into the engine... Imagine doing the test in a densely populated city with higher CO2 levels around... Instant disadvantage...

      I have two German Shepherds that like to bite things that are in places they shouldn't be. Plus the cars/batteries on chargers are inside a locked garage, inside that fully fenced and locked yard. If you can get the car out, you can have it, as I'll be having one hell of a laugh at your expense.
