I got done foe 23 over yesterday on the way home. $283 and 3 points. My first fine in over 10 years!

He could have done me for crossing unbroken line and no sticker on my helmet, but he "gave me a warning" about those.

With what I've gotten away with over the past 10 years, I'll take that one on the chin.

Correct.

I know because I got done for 27 over on a motorbike. I'd like to be able to say it's too easy to speed on a bike, but it was uphill and I was on a 250cc Virago...so really...the officer should have been congratulating me.

Will need to keep this in mind!

I think i'd sell my car if I lost it for 6+ months

Yeah I lost mine for 6 months, drained it hard. Regretted not selling the car after I got my license back, should have sold then chucked the cash in a term deposit for 6 months ;)

Yeah right, and miss out on that $500 interest you might earn.

You'd lose that in Stamp Duty when buying a car to replace the one you sold.

So it costs you $800 to keep it vs the headf**k associated with selling a car which you've probably spent a lot of money on which you will not get back and then the headf**k and expense of buying another one. f**k that.

Selling a car cause you have no license for 6 months is a retarded idea, IMO.

I'll concede that point. However the way I see it I had rego and insurance which around, say 3k, am the car was virtually stock. In hindsight by selling it, put that in TD. And then saved and purchased a newer car. This is only my opinion. Since then I've sold that car anyway and purchased a new car. But in my opinion it would have been better to do that whilst I had no license.

If you were going to sell it anyway, then yeah, no better time to do it when you're off the road.

I got $345 for walking across some train tracks just as the signal was about to go down.....

Would get off more lightly if I was drunk and punched someone in the face I think

as you know i got done for the same "crime" a few weeks before you (in the previous financial year tho) and my fine was $298 from memory.... didn't bother to pay it and it went up to $320ish.

what a bullshit thing to fine people about,,, i could see the boom gates were closed, I could see the train still stopped at the station BEFORE mine... and i'm a FUCKING ADULT that can make my own descisions on whether it was dangerous or not! seeing as the train was a good 2 minutes away i think i was safe enough, but ofcourse vicpol had revenue on the brain as usual :/

I've often wondered if i was to kidnap someone in my car and i got caught with them tied up in the boot... would i get in more trouble for the kidnapping or the car?
