First bit of advice, buy one WITH premium it's definitely worth the extras trust me.

There are a few boosted guys in the V-Series Skylines section, post a topic in there.

You can find a mint black manual for around $20,000 mark STOCK. Turbo kits are $5,000+

V got a 34gtt sedan and 350gt fully optioned premium spec coupe.... Get a 34gtt speciall if u don't know much about cars plus they are already turbo. 350gt is heavy on fuel and uncomfortable if ur a big bloke, but will be cheaper on insurance

It's heavy on fuel subject to how you drive it.. i get around 500-600km to a tank city driving. They are VERY comfortable cars, i have the premium pack with leather interior and i'm 6'1 and i could almost fall asleep driving they are that good. And cheaper on insurance, that all depends on the individual, your comments are very biased..

To answer the OP's question, like i said before definitely post a topic in the V-Series Skylines section you will receive a good amount of information on the 350GT's. I also think it might be difficult for you to find one exactly as you have mentioned as a lot of these cars are Premium models.

The good: They are powerful and reasonably priced cars, 206KW at the fly stock. They are very attractive cars, attracts attention as a big population of people don't know what they are. Very modern in terms of accessories and features.

the bad: they aren't cheap to buy parts, servicing is an issue as most places don't like to touch them, insurance is through the roof, suspension bushes are shit from stock and need replacing pretty fast.

I can think of a lot more things to mention but i'm at work and can't give a fully detailed post at this point in time

Lol 6ft 1 and 50kg wet? Or like me 6ft 4 120kg back pains and knee problems from footy and working my ass of as diesel fitter, so come weekends or time off i dont enjoy the 350 as much as i enjoy the 34 due to space and comfort? So please tell me how my comments are bias young fella? Or is it cuz u own a 350gt and nothing else that everything is all hale glory for your type of car? Old matey here asked a question and I just gave a quick 2c throw in on my thoughts. Btw hks do a supercharger kit for the 350gt pricey at about 7k for everything u need to bolt on

6'1 and i weigh 83kg. Fair enough being that big you may find it uncomfortable, but i assure you everyone else that owns one of these that is smaller than you will only have good things to say about the seating. Can i just say this reply is hard to read too.. I love the R and V series Skylines, shit the R34 GTR is still a dream car of mine.

  • 3 weeks later...

I had the exact same dilemma not too long ago, ended up buying an R34 GTT black with sunroof :) whichever car you go you won't be disappointed 350GT is a great car but IMO it lacks the sportiness and personality of the R34. It's more of a luxury prestige car than an all out sports car, so really depends on what you want. Prestige and comfort then go 350GT. FI kits are also a lot of $$$ so take that into consideration. There is some discussion about stillen & hks kits so be sure to read all about that.

There is also a fair bit of variation WITHIN the 350GTs:

So be sure to know which car you're actually buying (year / trim / options etc)

But most importantly TEST DRIVE BOTH. It's the only way you'll know for sure.

Good luck.

    • Hi All, I'm based in Sydney and want to get hold of 4 stock R34 GTT wheel caps as pictured. Cheers
    • Haha im flattered! Although my poor boat is collecting dust in the garage, as it hasn’t been driven in like 6 months. I forgot the to put the trickle charger on too, so the battery is likely toast now.. I have the frenchys kit. It is fantastic. My only gripe was that the hard lines from the firewall needed some tweaking, however, this was mainly due to my specific turbo and dump combo. The weight and size packaging is much nicer too. I think I have some pics on my build thread somewhere.. my justification for the kit was more “why not” I had gone to the trouble to modernise just about every other part of the car..
    • Actually, ethanol has probably never been cheaper, on a tax free basis, than petrol. With fuel excise being what it is, and only being levied on the hydocarbon component, not the ethanol component, and ethanol for non-drinking purposes not being subject to liquor excise - E85 was cheaper, but not because the combustible liquid itself was particularly cheaper.
    • Maybe? If changing the cat to a higher flowing cat, caused the turbo to spool more quickly, and those areas of the map had not been tuned for the boost level it is now seeing, then yes you would need a re-tune. How dangerous it is running without the updated tune would depend on how far out the tune is with the now higher boost levels, how the engine protection has been setup, is the ECU compensating with a wideband sensor, is the boost control closed loop blah blah million other things... But yeah having said that, I wouldn't be surprised if changing out the cat for a high flow, in say a full 3" exhaust, made no noticeable difference at all.
