We know everyone loves a good cruise, so thanks to your events organiser yours truly, after a few months of neglecting my events job, we're going on one again.

CAMS permit: SAU30092012 permit Sep 12.pdf

Okay so here's the details;

Date: Sunday 30th Sep 2012

Who: Anyone with any car (doesn't have to be a Skyline) but Skylines prefered laugh.gif

We're taking a nice cruise from Kirrawee down to Headlands Hotel in Austinmer.

From where? Well we're meeting up at 10AM, for a 10:30AM Sharp leave, at the parking lot near the corner of Waratah St and Bath Road in Kirrawee, up the road from Just Jap..

Where to then? Well, we head left out of that carpark to Toronto Parade, turn left, and follow this down to the Princes Highway.

After travelling down to the Princes Highway, we hang a right heading for the Royal National Park turn off at Sutherland.

As we near the National Park at Sutherland, we need to turn left down Farnell Ave. Once we turn here, there will be a bit of room on the left where we can pull over and get everyone to bunch back up.

As we head into the Royal National Park, we'll be informing the "Gatesmen" that we are not stopping in the National Park and travelling through to Wollongong. (Which we are, into a northern Suburb of Wollongong). This means we don't have to pay to go through.

From here we just shoot through the Royal National Park and pop out down the bottom at Bald Hill.

After Bald Hill, we will be taking the left turn down Lawrence Hargrave Drive.

We will follow Lawrence Hargrave Drive down until Headlands Ave, at which point we will turn left, and pull into the carpark at Headlands Hotel.

Now this hotel does have some "Down Under Hollywood Class", being the main on-site filming location for the Australian Show headLand

There is plenty of park land around the Hotel, and after a bit of a feed, I will be proposing a bit more socialising and some fun activities like photos and stuffs (Weather permitting)

If the weather does fault, then we'll just stay inside, have our chats, and shoot some pool.

On this cruise we will ALL be sticking to the speed limit.

There will be NO DRIFTING.

NO BURNOUTS

NOTHING ILLEGAL!

We will be the most courteous users on the road, and we will not be doing ANYTHING to cause any disrepute for the club.

As with all SAU:NSW events, this cruise will run under a CAMS permit.

This will be another fun day, with the only cost a bit of fuel, and what ever you decide to eat and drink.

For those of you who decide you need more than one or two during the afternoon, please organise a safe way home.

On this cruise we will ALL be sticking to the speed limit.

There will be NO DRIFTING.

NO BURNOUTS

NOTHING ILLEGAL!

Looking forward to seeing you guys there!

BRING A FULL TANK OF FUEL!!!!

Yeah, if it's closed, just keep heading down to Towradgi Beach Hotel - map link from Austi Pub to Towradgi Beach Hotel as follows:

Awesome pub that one, real nice beer garden and good grub.

Hey, yeah headlands hotel is definitely closed down. Everyone should head down 3 mins south the famous Thirroul Beaches pub! I use to live down that way and it was a great place for events such as this.

I've referred 2 ladies to come along in their white V35. Please make them welcome? They've never been on an SAU event before.

Cheers

Will do Terry, more the merrier, will try and get my uncle to bring his V35 out so they arnt the only ones in V35s

    • My hold point for future mods is that I want a OEM detachable hard top first, but, finding one is a pain, MX5 Mania are looking for one for me, but, as hens teeth are more common, finding one in Australia is proving problematic  I can get a OEM one from overseas, hell, you can still get new ones in 'Merica, but, shipping is a absolute killer and I cannot justify the cost, or the risk of it being damaged during transport As for the aftermarket hardtops, whilst they do the job of being a hard top, and are fine for a track car, they don't seal well (read: leak like a sieve in the rain), and you need a plastic/poly rear window, plus they are a bolt in option only and not made to be easily removed I liked how the hard top on my NB could be fitted, and removed, by myself, in less than 5 minutes I know it sounds bad, but I'm waiting for someone to write off a car with one so I can swoop in on their pain, it will go to a good home though, so my guilt of this is tempered
    • I’ve got one on mine and it’s fine,
    • No, you don't want to plug the vacuum line, as that will turn that side of the booster into an air spring and probably make it feel worse. I'm not saying that the GTR master itself doesn't need a booster. I haven't paid attention to the GTR one to know what size it is cf the non-GTR ones. But when you think about it - they have to do the same job, which is to move a little slave piston a few mm to do what it is supposed to do, and that final action is the same on all the cars. So, it is very unlikely that the GTR MC is any different than the others, because it has the same pedal stroke and the same output requirement. The booster just makes it feel easier. I'd suggest you probably have an actual hydraulic problem. It's totally common on these old shitboxes.
    • Ye, in terms of bolting up the "Conversion" from a GT to a GTT is effectively "Use GTT parts for everything" Except the subframe itself, because you won't want a HICAS/4WS subframe. Remember your ABS system will be different too, thanks to GT being the S15 3 sensor system, instead of the R34 4 sensor system for wheel speed. I do not know how people get this to work given R34 diffs do not have a provision for an ABS sensor (they are on the tone wheels of the axles). I assume***** people use S15 gear/R34NA forever when they realize this - Or they convert it to a rear diff/axles that are R33 style which I presume has the singular speed sensor on the diff itself, but then you have to wire it all in and...and... and...
